Truth. I tried to tell some of these fools that Bowe was headed to his biggest challenge under God, but oh well; you'll believe my ass now, won't you?

After practice, running back Jamaal Charles commented about the one-a-day and two-a-day practices. He said that the practice schedule "makes the body sore." He also said the two-a-day practices are really busy, especially in between getting food, getting taped up, etc., but after the second practice, they go back to their rooms. On a one-practice day, they have a meeting after practice. Charles then stated, “My first year as a rookie, I didn’t have a good season. Hopefully the second season we can win a couple games…I’m hungry this year. I came back in shape and am bigger and stronger.”

Um.... Jammal...Um... yeah.

Seriously, though... you have to remember, Cassel didn't look bad in Patriots preseasons: he looked frigging abysmal. To the point that, even at the end of last preseason, most Patriots fans were screaming for his release and were shocked when he not only made the roster again but was still the #2. When Brady went down in that first game, everyone automatically assumed the season was over and that Cassel would come in and f**k up immediately, because we'd never seen anything remotely decent from him in training camps and preseason games. Only the most stalwart Kool-Aid drinkers were still chanting, "In Bill we trust, if he's kept Cassel around there must be a reason, in Bill we trust..."

Don't worry about how many picks Cassel throws in practice. Worry about how many he throws from Opening Day onward...
This will be interesting to watch. I wonder how short of memories people on this board really have. Trent Green threw a lot of picks his first season as a Chief. He didn't have that many more starts under his belt as Cassel did. Both of them seem similar in that they are unafraid to throw a pass and then have very short memories.

I'm willingly to give him the benefit of the doubt in practice. Better to experiment with what throws he and his receivers are able to get away with in practice rather than games. Also, and it's hard to tell from the updates, it depends onthe type of INT. Is he trying for long gains, a timing issue or a great defensive play? Or is it wobbly passes, rushed passing or can't see defenders coming? If it's the former, I can live with the INT's in practice. The latter, alarm bells would be going off.

I think a lot of Green's INT problems that first year were a result of WRs not being in the right place.

Anything on Pollard or LJ? Darling? Engram, Bradley?
Pollard has looked better than Mike Brown thus far IMO. Brown just hasn't flashed like I thought he would thus far. Pollard, like every other player, has trimmed down quite a bit, and has made some really good plays.

LJ has trimmed down as well. I will hold judgement on LJ until the season starts. Its never about skill with LJ...he has that. Its about his attitude when losses occur, and when he isn't breaking big runs. LJ does look engaged however.

Darling, Engram and Bradley all have had their moments. Engram is almost always in the slot running crossing routes, and has great hands. You can tell he has lost a step, but should be perfect for what Haley wants him to do. Bradley has to get on the field because he has good speed to stretch defenses, and he has done that in camp. Darling could have a good year...he sure looks the part in practice. However, so does Jeff Webb. Preseason should seperate these guys. Amani Toomer looks to have a lot left in the tank IMO.

Glenn Dorsey is EXLUSIVELY at RDE. The nose tackles are Ron Edwards and Tank Tyler.

Winner = ROR.

Losers = GoChiefs/Billay.

Its definitely just my opinion. Pollard always looks pretty good in training camp. Mike Brown is awful small as well. Its no wonder why he has had some injury issues.

A couple of tidbits from tonight's practice...

* Tamba Hali and Mike Vrabel switched spots in the 3-4 Defense. Hali is now playing LOLB, while Vrabel is now playing ROLB. I'm not sure why the switch occured.

* Devard Darling was kicked out of practice, and sent inside. He lined up wrong which caught the attention of Haley. Haley told Darling, "run to the building and stay there.". Darling did just that... but instead of trying to run back to practice and resume, or at least work out on the bike, he chose to sit under the training tent and have a glass of water. Haley saw him, and exploded...telling him "if you don't want to practice, get your ass inside...NOW."

* Battle had a rough practice dropping a catchable ball in the two minute drill, and fumbling another.

* Thigpen better pick it up because Guitierez
(sp?) threw the ball well in drills, and Thigpen looked BAD again tonight running with the #3 team behind Croyle.
