Kidding aside, I am really surprised at how things are playing out in camp. I fully expected the defense to be the problem child, not the offense.

Unfortunately I'm posting from my cell phone but I will list out the 1st team, and give you the locks on the second team. The second and third teams have been pretty fluid up to this point...

1st Team O
Niswanger
Waters
Goff
Albert
McIntosh

Cassel
LJ
Cox

Bowe
Bradley
Ryan (the battle is between Sean Ryan and Brad Cottam)
Engram (in the slot position replacing Mike Cox at FB)

1st Team D
Boone (RDE - Will obviously be Jackson's spot)
Edwards (NT)
Dorsey (RDE - splits time with McGee)
Thomas (Mays may give him a run for his money)
DJ
Vrabel
Hali

Flowers
Carr
Page
Pollard

2nd Team O and D
Brown, Leggett, Toomer, Darling, Studebaker, Redd, Wright, Collins, and Taylor are all pushing for playing time as a starter IMO.

I fully expected Cassel and the receivers would struggle in camp and early preseason, but you're right, I had expected the defense to be well behind overall.

I said in OTAs that one guy that might really benefit from Haley's conditioning demands was McIntosh.

How has he looked?

Average. McIntosh is a guy who really hasn't lost a ton of weight by the eye test. He has VERY thin legs. Nearly all of his weight is in hs upper body which is why he will always struggle with quicker DE's .

I wasn't impressed with his work ethic on the "no man's land" field before he joined regular practice. Its very evident that he and Waters were babied the last couple of seasons.

Actually those skinny legs are the reason he would struggle against stronger DEs, and struggle to get any push as a run blocker.

He has no base to gain any leverage.

If he struggles against speed rushers as mightily as he did last year, then he's absolutely worthless.

How are Richardson and Taylor looking?

Who thinks Rodney Wright will make the team at WR? Ive seen some people say hes been the most impressive WR at camp, and he could be our version of Wes Welker because hes the shortest and quickest of the WRs.

Bowe/Bradley/Engram/Toomer/Wright? Webb is going to get cut. I dont know what to think about Darling. I dont think Copper will make the team, I wonder where that leaves Quentin Lawrence.

I disagree...Because he has such a big upper body to move around with those thin legs are why he struggles against quicker DE's. He just doesn't have the power in his legs to give himself more agility and reaction time. His upper body strength is why he doesn't struggle against powerful DE's like you suggest.

Taylor and Richardson are the Taylor and Richardson from last year IMHO.

The first couple of practices I saw him in, he was dog shot. He looked better the last couple of days up there, though.

I'm going to disagree with you on that.

McIntosh has always, even in his best days, struggled against power, because you need a strong lower body to gain the leverage advantage as a blocker.

It's the primary reason he sucked in two games as a guard for the Dolphins, and why they quickly axed that experiment.

Lol! I guess we will agree to disagree. McIntosh gets blown by all the time and rarely gets overpowered...but its all in the eye of the beholder.

Mac doesn't move anyone in the running game. That's where his lack of power really shows.
