Back ups are mostly made up of young guys you're grooming or old vets for tutoring. Teams that need insurance could probably find a better alternative.

49ers would be one. I don't think Alex Smith is the answer, and Damon Hutard probably will get injured in the process. Shaun Hill? Who?

Minnesota really needs a QB, one way or another.

Rams could probably use a QB.
Shaun Hill is the niners best QB and all those teams you listed won't play a spread offense. The only way Thigpen can complete 54% of throws are in a spread offense.

Doesn't matter. A team needs a QB, they will get one, regardless of what system he plays in.

Tavaris Jackson is like a more naturally gifted version of Thigpen so I don't think they need another one.

The 3 teams you listed best player is their RB. Playing a spread would phase them out and would be stupid. Brain Greise is a better QB then Thigpen so if I was those teams i'd sign him instead of trading for Thigpen.

I'm pretty sure the only people out there who think Thigpen has any value are the people on this board. I think lots of teams would take a waiver on him but I seriously doubt anyone is going to give up a late round pick. Plenty of QB's with a similar skill set will be getting cut in the coming weeks.

Starting Thigpen would have brought us an UNTOLD shitfest. A return to the days of Bill Kenney.

I enjoyed Tony saying that and people actually acting like it meant he could play.

It was really funny.

I think everyone underestimated how terrible Thigpen would be without Tony Gonzalez...I mean he really locked in on him.
