We celebrated birthdays with her and brought her to family functions, but I truly believe she felt out of place (she wasn't) even thought we loved her dearly. She didn't speak English very well either, so if you weren't around her for years it was hard to understand her. She was awesome. And no, I'm not afraid of death one bit. She taught me that.
That's amazing, and I agree with her when she says "Living this long isn't all it's cracked up to be." I'm 32 and I have many questions about life. I don't WANT to live to be 70, honestly. Unless I'm fully functional ... Well, we have no choice. Everyone dies. It's how we chose to live in between ..

The nice thing about not believing in an afterlife: once I die, I won't care whether I was worried about it or not.

I'm don't fear death nearly as much as I fear not being here for others. Once I get to about 70 (20 years) then everyone should be ok without me, and if they're not I wouldn't be much help anyway. But right now there are people who need me and depend on me and I would be frightened for them if I were to become ill.

Also, "not sure about an afterlife" really should be an option. I am torn on that subject. A couple of years ago I was sure there was not but lately I'm changing my mind.

I'm going out in a blaze of glory. No lying in my deathbed while my family softly weeps.

I'm gonna make headlines.

Scream Bloody Gore was the definitive album, jumped the entire genre off and I had 7 Churches. Individual Thought Patterns spawned a whole new genre. I got a Spiritual Healing patch on my jacket. R.I.P. Chuck.

I was thinking the other day about how nature always recycles. Whether it's people or trees or rain, whenever something hits the ground, it immediately begins morphing into something else or feeding something else. Given that it happens with everything else, I can see that it's possible that the spark of life, however that may be defined, is also recycled or turned into something else. It made me start thinking about reincarnation as an option.

Well imagine if you lived in Israel ... you'd fear getting on any bus to take you to your destination. Thank God that this country doesn't have that problem.. (yet?) I'm thankful that I don't have to literally think of Death every day I wake up ...

I am now terrified of death. It didn't bother me during either war in Iraq, but a couple years ago I came down with a very rare encephalopathy that damn near killed me. While I was in the hospital I had a lot of very vivid hallucinations, kind of like a month long "bad trip". Most of these things centered on my own demise. Really scared the crap out of me.

I had to look that word up. I feel bad for you man.

A month long bad trip would be scary as hell.
