We are ***OFFICIALLY*** the worst team in the NFL.

The Lions won today. The Raiders beat us in our home opener and couldn't have looked worse today. Who's left?..Bueller....Buelller...Thats right it's us.

Thats the reality. How'd we get from being one of the top teams in 2003 to the worse in 6 years? IMHO,

Talent.

It's obvious to anyone that our problem is talent. We are deficient in talent at just about every position.

Drafting Decisions:
King Carl after Marty left and then Dick Vermiel had horrible drafts that we are paying for now. I had so many King Carl must go threads and rants on here, people were pissed off by the number. King Carl was fired so at least we are moving on.

I'll withhold judgement on Pioli until we see if Cassell and Jackson pan out. Cassell is running for his life. He showed some passion at home last week. That was one beautiful throw to the corner of the end zone. Lots of potential upside. Many a defensive lineman has been just okay in their first few years in the league and then became studs. It's rare that a DL makes a impact right away. So we just have to wait for a final decision on Jackson.

Free Agency decisions.:
Again, King Carl whiffed on so many, it would be impossible to detail all those poor decision here. But, I think we are all in agreement that he sucked the big one in this catagory also.

I don't remember any FA that we let go to another team that could have helped us this off season. Any pickups that could have turned around the team this year. Woudn't have mattered this year. Again, Pioli gets a pass this year from me for FA decisions, but not next year.

I can't blame Haley for this mess. Lombardi and Parcells couldn't make this team a winner with this talent level. Pioli can't make the team a winner in one off season. Maybe Haley can't coach or run a team. but with this serious lack of talent how can we judge him after 3 games that he sucks?

If we don't see a vast effort to improve the talent on the team this off season, then I'll join the chorus of "off with their heads". but for now I'll just suffer on a weekly basis seeing this once proud team reduced to being the worst team in football.

It most certainly does apply.

There are guys on your list that wouldn't have even considered the Chiefs because one of their criteria is a need to compete for a ring.

That being said, the GLARING example is Jason Brown. He signed in St. Louis, who is as bad as we are. There's no excuse for not pursuing him.

I don't buy that.

Housh went to Seattle, a 4-12 team.

Willis re-signed with Seattle, a 4-12 team.

Tra Thomas went to Jax, a 5-11 team.

Coles went to Cincy, a 4-11-1 team.

ALL would have upgraded the Chiefs.

Do I need to continue?

Any of these guys would have been upgrades and would have allowed the Chiefs to go a different direction in the draft.

I'd take Canty over Tyson Jackson everyday of the week. A few of these guys like Thomas and Pace would have been one year stop gaps but they'd be better than SackIntosh or Ndudwe.

Bowe, Housh and Bradley/Wade would have been a nice WR corp and Ward would have been an improvement over Battle. Heath Evans versus Mike Cox is a no brainer.
Housh wasn't coming here. no way. Seattle was considered a contender. Not an also ran this year.

coles in Cincy? How are they doing this year? a little better than the Chiefs.

Canty is washed up and the corners we have are going to be fine.

Tra is a washed up Ol.

I'll give you Jason Brown, we dropped the ball on that one. But the rest are not really that big of improvments, have off the field or locker room issues or wanted a chance for a ring and wern't interested in the Chiefs. IMHO.

To be fair, Seattle wasnt your typical 4-12 team. Hasselback got hurt and they sunk, also Housh sort of went back home to the Northwest.

Huh? So, you think that Seattle, with a QB that can't stay healthy and a record of 4-12 last year was a better option that playing opposite Bowe with Cassel throwing him the ball?

Huh?

Uh, you clearly aren't familiar with Chris Canty, the freaking MONSTER 3-4 defensive end from the Dallas Cowboys that joined the NY Giants this year for $7 million per season.

I think you are thinking of the wrong Chris Canty. The one from the post is a DT not a corner.

Seattle's looking to be a 4-12 team again this year as well. I wonder if their fans are bitter about Sanchez?

As for Housh, he's 32 years old and probably only has a couple of years left. He'll be "going home" soon enough. IF the Chiefs had offered the jack, there might have been a chance of signing him.

But the Chiefs didn't "whiff" on these guys.

They ignored them.

And that to me is unconscionable.

I don't know where to start with this team. I live in AZ now and have had Sunday Ticket for many years to be able to watch every Chiefs game in its entirety. Yesterday was the first time I literally could not finish the game. I watched a series or two in the second half and opposed to torturing myself for another hour I changed games. I am glad that I did as well. Vikings/49ers and Titans/Jets were both very good games.

Before everyone chimes in with the "Sanchez Sanchez" ball washing watch the game when it is replayed on NFLN. He and the Jets were 0 for their last 11 on third downs. The Jets D again showed up huge most of the game and especially when needed.

10 penalties for 90 yards is terrible. Every single time(it certainly seemed that way while I was watching) the Chiefs would have a big positive play it came back for holding on the O line. I am extremely concerned with Albert's apparent regression this season. He has showed none of the positive play from last year that led many to believe he would be a solid LT and anchor on the Chiefs O line for years to come. IF he cannot get it together the Chiefs have an even bigger mess on the O line.

Safety play again was bad. No way D Jackson should have taken that play to the house. Hell yeah the guy is fast, but get in front of him and tackle.

LJ looks brutally slow hitting the hole. It looks as though he is running through quicksand on his way to the hole.

This is going to be a depressingly long football season for us Chiefs fans.

But the bottomline is that there were players available in free-agency that would have upgraded the Chiefs significantly.

Unfortunately for us, the Chiefs chose to ignore those players.
