This Sanchez Chap

I fully admit that I'm not very savvy when it comes to football, but while watching the Chiefs game this weekend, CBS suddenly turned to the Jets' game instead (I'm not really sure why). Anyway, the Jets had a QB named Sanchez that seemed really good a throwing the ball (which is, I think, the primary goal of a QB). So, I started thinking: "I think this is the chap who the Chiefs could have drafted this year, but didn't."

Is that correct?

If so, how much are the Jets paying this Sanchez fellow in comparison to Cassel?

Thanks.

But to say it was a huge mistake... we just don't know that yet. And he deserves at least an average offensive line before we can judge either way. Not an outstanding offfensive line. Not a pro bowl offensive line. Just an average one. I don't think that's too much to ask.

Sanchez not only has the skills of Joe Montana, John Elway, John Unitas, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning rolled into one, he is Mark Messiah, Name above all names, blessed redeemer, Emmanuel. He is our ransom from Heaven. The healer of the sick. He is Alpha and Omega. The King of Kings. Lord of Lords. All fans should give him 10 percent of their paychecks as it is his money anyway and he is allowing us to keep the othr 90 percent. There has never been such footwork in the pocket, poise, intelligence to rival his. I mean, when he single handedly beat the Patriots with those 165 yards passing I knew I had witnessed a new era in football.

I actually do see some similarities between what Sanchez is doing to Brady in 2001. Very good game manager surrounded by a solid, not great, but solid OL, average receivers and a very good defense. But if you put the 2001 Brady on a suck ass team with the worst OL you've ever seen balanced with a crappy defense and Brady would have been killed.
For anyone to make any judgements on Sanchez vs Cassel with the entirely different scenarios they are given is assinine.
Yeah, Jim Plunkett and Archie Manning sucked too when they played for those crappy Patriot and Saints team too.

I'm with ya there.I gotta admit though,I like the attitude that Rex Ryan has given to his team, they seem to have taken right to it.Well just have to see how they react to that first real good ass whooping. If they take that and stay up and move on there just might be something there to watch.

If Sanchez should fail in NY, even because of a freak injury. QBs will avoid the Jets like Crabtrees avoid 49ers.

And Cassel has already proven that he can win with a good team and put up good numbers, so I don't see why the focus is on Cassel or Sanchez. If we draft Sanchez, we're probably still giving up 30 points a game, unable to run the ball, and getting the QB killed every time he drops back...

Sanchez has been great this year. I have to admit it.

But, 2 things stood out last week. 1) he's not used to playing in bad weather. he didnt have a towel for the wet ball to start the game (only after the ball slipped out of his hand on a throw did he and the center start wearing one) and 2) he's awful at handling the ball. he carries it like a loaf of bread. and every team will be watching tape on that for future games.

Fortunately, you can teach him to stop those bad habits. and the fact that the Jets have no really decent receivers other than Keller and Cotcherry shows just how good hes been when the Jets need him to throw the ball.

I am pleasantly surprised with him. and I have to thank that dumbass Mangini for trading that pick to us for nobodys so we could get him
