Arcade Games

A couple people have asked about new games for the arcade. I'm not all that into those type of games, so I'm too lazy to go out and hunt for new ones. However, if any of you have too much time on your hands and want to hunt down some new ones, I'll see what I can do to get them up and running.

Any of them that are designed for ibProArcade or v3arcade should work, but they have to be free (unless someone else is in the mood to pay for some). Here's a site that has a ton of them, though you have to register to try them out.

http://www.ibpdownloads.com/ipb/inde...autocom=arcade

Anyway, if you find any of them that are pretty good, let me know. We're going for quality over quantity, though. I'd rather add 5-10 good ones than 100 mediocre ones.

Keep your visibility as low as possible for as long as possible... and then hope for a lucky break. (btw new post in the monarch forum coming in a sec...)

I had my visibility down to 0

The Lethality at 4 and Infectivity at 27 and Western Europe still shut down.

How could you sit and play that for 10 minutes...shit...
It was 10 mins because the time starts rolling as soon as you open the window.
Try it out.
- Open the game in a new window
- Let it sit for 5 mins
- Click your mouse and let go (thus losing the game within a second)
- The game will take you to the high score screen but display the time of your latest game (5:01)

BTW - What are you talkin' aboot. I'm not hispanic.

Up the lethality while keeping infectivity as high as possible. [/duh!]

You're welcome.

Yeah no shit.

But the only way to keep the Visibility at 0, the highest you can have on Lethality is 4 and Infectivity is 27, try it.

How they knew something was wrong, I have no clue.

Pandemic is fun but this arcade version basically depends on blind luck if your playing right, so I dont care about the high score as much as some of the other games that are less about luck.

I'll just post what I do and why, then other people can either improve on my strategy, or just keep hammering away at it doing the same thing I did until someone lucks into a higher score. This is just what I do. This may not (probably not) be the perfect strategy, if you can improve on it, good for you.

Step 1) You must begin the game in Central Europe
Step 2) If you start anywhere else, close the window, restart, and go back to Step 1.

Why? Breaking into Western Europe is a pain in the ass. The only way to get in is through the border over central europe. (Edit: you can also get in through Africa, but for some reason the disease doesnt spread worth a crap anywhere else out of Africa even with their airports. At least, not for me) If you start anywhere else, you first have to wait till you first randomly hit Central Europe, then get lucky into West Europe, so you might as well just start in Central Europe.

If Western Europe is so tough, why not just start there? God no, West Europe is the worst place to start because now you have to break out into Central Europe, and that wont happen till around the high day 30's, at best. You basically want to be infected nearly everywhere when you finally get in.

Step 3) Get rid of human only.
Step 4) click go until you have over 25 dead (you earned a point)
Step 5) Get rid of sweating. (Its cheap, and this does nothing for you except increase visability)
Step 6) Click go until you have 100 dead, then buy bodily fluids.

After that, its a bit more freeform, but this is what I do. Improve on this if you can.

I dont worry too much about visibility at first, I get survivability outside host preferrably up to 2, resistance to moisture/heat to one, then click go till I can afford airborn.

Some stuff I dont buy: I usually dont ever buy incubation. It improves infectivity by 1 a pop, but I suspect (no proof) that it slows down the rate of death, and I dont want to waste time buying it down later. I also dont get waterborn, its expensive as hell, and getting all the other shit I usually get makes you plenty infective.

Anyway, then I get survivability to 3, resistances to 2, then I get rid of sneezing and coughing to reduce my visibility. (At this point in the game, the game seems to start having a chance to shut down borders so now its time to lay low). Fever is good to keep, and I dont worry about vomiting because its expensive to get rid of and at this point visibility is only 2. If I havent gotten into West Europe yet (usually not), then I get resistances to 3. If I'm still not in Western Europe, I can get immune system for a decent lethality and a infective pop, and then anticoagulant for the same reason. Neither of them raises visibility.

If I have airborn, bodily fluids, survivability and resistances at 3, fever, vomiting, anticoagulant, and immune system, and I'm STILL not in Western Europe, what I do next depends.

If I'm just waiting on Western Europe, I do nothing and click go until I finally break in, then use all my saved points to explode the lethality.

If I'm waiting on a bunch of countries, I might buy back coughing to improve infection a bit more with 1 lethality, and maybe even boils for a big infection bump. At this point, I'm a bit desperate to get infections and cant worry about keeping visibility at 2 any more.

If I'm now everywhere, infectivity doesnt matter as much. I try to focus on lethality, and at this point theres not much you can do. Youll max out the virus's lethality and then see if you got everyone infected quickly enough to beat the top score.

Umm....something looks fishy in Helicopter land.

Gadzooks got over 7,000 by playing for 18 minutes? Buckin got 6,307 by playing it for 4:49 seconds.
