McDaniels wanted to get rid of Jay Cutler more than he wanted to bring in Matt Cassel. If he wanted Jay we never would have traded him for Orton.

I agree I hope you lock Orton up lock term as well.... as do Oakland and San Diego fans, I think that is something we can all agree on

His contract is structured as such he's only significantly tied down for 2 years. The amount of time he was getting whether he was a HOFer or a Leaf clone.

Orton has played at a Pro Bowl level this year while Matt Cassel looks like the backup QB he has always been.
