So now we're reduced to comparing DJ to trash claimed off the offseason scrap heap to make him look good.

Outstanding! Maybe in another two years DJ will finally be a good player and and then we can get another two years out of him before he retires. GREAT IDEA!

#2: I don't think it's a coincidence that when they simplify things, Cassel looks great. When they're behind, and go to a quick offense, he looks like Tom Brady's "Mini-Me". When they slow down and start calling plays and huddling, they stagnate. Here's a clue: take the leash off the kid. Slim down the playbook, give him more shotgun, let him make a few more decisions, and play to his strengths. You know, all that shit Belichick mentioned in that quore from a few weeks ago that was around here. You've got a guy you paid to be the leader, so stop acting like he's Thigpen.
I completely agree. My sense is that until Haley feels confident enough in the defense and confident enough in the offense to consistently extend drives, we won't go no huddle much. The defense is on the field for a long time as it is and we don't have any depth to work with. But I agree, he works much better out of that and it's weird that we haven't tried it earlier in games.

Has Haley really significantly changed over the past few weeks? I was in the stands last week. Maybe this was obvious to viewers at home.

I'm not comparing them at all. I don't watch games real close for individual performances. I watch "the ball" way too much. I happened to go back through the Steelers game on TiVo a couple of nights ago to watch the two lines play just so I could sort of keep up on the chatter around here on who is good, and who is not. I only watched the defense for a quarter or two, where I watched the offense the whole game. The big plays in the running game for the Steelers early looked to be on Mays to me. Nothing more, nothing less.

And I still agree with JW on his Haley/Cassel/Score doesn't matter premisis.

THIS

DJ was out of position or missed so many easy tackles that resulted in long gaines last Sunday that I lost track of the total.

BTW, I've heard some info that explains why DJ never developed into a top LB in the league but I'm not going to post it because its not the solid and if true is very personal to DJ. Besides he's gone next year and eventually it will come out.

Because it supports Whitlock's ignorant opinion.

It's a very personal "something" about his outlook in life. It's very sad and pathetic. I've had this info for at least 2 years and nothing has changed which has made it even more sad and pathetic. Doesn't really matter, DJ is gone in 6 games.

Actually, I'm thinking that DJ actually helped knock out Big Ben. Am I right?
If I'm wrong then I don't disagree.
Hopefully DJ can help knock off Pip Rivers head today.
