I know that TinyE has the CP Weight Loss Challenge thread, but this is a new beginning for me. No losing weight for prizes, as that motivation ended on July 1st. This time I'm doing it for me. My goal is 75 lbs. Slow and steady wins the race. This time, the prize will be a whole new me.

Anyone else still battling the bulge? Here, hopefully, you can find more encouragement and tips on diet and exercise. Feel free to talk about discouragements, setbacks, frustrations, etc as well. We're here to help...at least I am.

She's 1, so not sure she has the attention span for that. I do try and do some exercises with her, like put her on my gut and do hip raises and such....or sometimes I use her like a barbell.

I know that an hour in the evening seems like a lot, but honestly, when you wake up and do nothing but go, go, and go....and have no break.... that hour is too much to give up when it comes to my sanity.

I kinda like NewPhin's idea of just getting up earlier, but man...I'd have to go to bed even earlier to have enough sleep....ugh...I'm not trying to make excuses, it's just hard adjusting to motherhood.

someone mentioned 'high-fructose corn syrup" ....and I got the impression it's really bad lol.
what is it? Is that the stuff that's in sodas (probably a ton of other things too).
i've been drinking coke zero for a year or two...but I just looked at the bottle and it has that sh8t in it! lol

I guess this stuff should be avoided.

Basically, sucrose used to be used to sweeten your soft drinks, candies, foods, etc. It was made from sugar. Natural-like.

High fructose corn-syrup is CHEAP, and is used as a sweetener in everything. Pretty much every pre-packaged drink or food has a trace of this shit in it. Obviously, there are some food and drink that are much worse for you; but it would be nearly impossible to cut it out of your diet.

I failed on TinyEvels challenge. But since then I have lost 34 pounds and am shooting for 28 more to be 170lbs....

I'm definitely new to this weighloss thing. Starting in November, I stopped putting sugar or cream in my coffee. I'm sure caffeine inhibits weight loss, but no sugar or cream was a big step. Pretty much used to it now.
Been trying to keep my calories to about 1800-200/day since Thanksgiving.
I think I'm going to stop drinking Coke Zero altogether; just drink water.

I wish I knew what 'good carbs'/ bad carbs were. This sh*t is confusing. lol

Simple carbs like sugars=bad
Complex carbs like whole wheat and oats=better
Fiberous like green leafy veggies=best

Cutting out shitty soft drinks is HUGE in losing weight. If you're used to drinking Coke, or even Coke Zero you'll hate it after about a month of only drinking water.

You'll be all WTF? I like a little sugar in my coffee, but I don't want to drink the shit straight if you have a pop.

really, even though I drink coke zero - it's usually with lunch. at night, with dinner etc, I usually have water or tea.
Over the past year, I really cut back on soda as a whole; and it's been a good 4 years or more since I've had a 'real' sugar/laden soda.

hopefully eliminating it altogether won't be bad.

Pepperidge Farm makes some ****ing amazing tasting bread that doesn't have any HFCS in it. Looking at the ingredients, it's actually pretty damn good. 15 whole grains, no HFCS and about 80 calories per giant slice. I just eat one slice per sandwich. So good, especially toasted.

Not only that, but artificial sweeteners also spike your insulin levels, making it harder to burn fat. They may not have any calories, but your body treats it just like sugar.
