Anybody got any advice for a guy who is sick of working jobs and wants to start a legit career?

I have a college degree: BS. Theater (2007)
I have some (retail) sales experience.

Like I said, I'm leaning towards sales, but as to WHAT I want to sell... I don't know. Just curious what people around here did to break into their respective careers. Did you know somebody? Did you just blindly send resumes in to a billion places and hope one of them gives you a call? Really wanted to brainstorm, and bounce some ideas around, and thought I'd reach out on here since it's a pretty large resource. Maybe even on the off chance somebody was like, "hey, my brother is looking for a VP for his company and was interested in hiring a guy who knows how to play blues guitar, you'd be perfect!" Kidding, of course. But... Not really.

Many things aren't easy, but sales is tough in a "sell or don't eat" kind of way.

That pays really well. But I don't know if you can just study for the test and be in good shape. I know a girl who is studying Finance and Statistics here at UNI and going to try to get into actuary.

You could travel to the Middle East and write a novel about the Iranian crisis or the UAE. You could start a new era of Orientalism. People want to read about the Middle East today.

You could write a one man play about the struggles of establishing a stable work life. It would find a very sympathetic bourgeoisie audience in the theater-circle because of the recession today.

You could set up a prostitution ring. There are some community groups that might help you out with the taxes and legal stuff there.
