Flame away at my Homerism.....I ain't no Claythan.

Yeah, I watched the Chiefs game Sunday. I was bitterly disappointed, like many other fans. I looked at the half empty stands, a team that half the players’ names I don’t even recognize, and play calling that made me yell and scream.

I told my son of the “Glory” days. The days the stands were filled EVERY Sunday. “Black outs” were not even a second thought. There were great names…Len Dawson, Otis Taylor, Joe Delaney, Ed Podolak, Emmitt Thomas, Derrick Thomas and even Joe Montana. We knew who played for the Chiefs then!

Yes, there have been down times when fans didn’t fill Arrowhead. And yes, it’s been 40 years and counting since our ONLY Super Bowl Championship. But I have lived in Kansas City for OVER 40 years. I have been a Chiefs fan for OVER 40 years. I will die a Chiefs fan.

With all of that background, I will tell you this. Haley and Pioli inherited a team of prima donnas, malcontents and losers. They didn’t have much time to rectify this or implement their vision. They needed to bolster the roster, eliminate the malcontents as well loser mentality.

Haley has shown that he could take 52 people off the street and win more than 2 games. He has eliminated some of the malcontents, and bolstered the roster. He is beginning to implement his vision.

I am willing to deal with this season. Hell, no one expected a decent season! Haley has had horrific clock management and play calling. He has had ego problems. But he is a freshman head coach. I see the advancement through the disasters. I am willing to let Haley grow as well as let my beloved Chiefs grow.

Yes, thankfully, we have had glory days. Yes we have had a long drought. Yes we have had low times and ARE having a low time. But….I refuse to give up. I am willing to see the forest through the flames.Am I alone??.....

Im with you man. Haley is getting better each game. His clock management sucks, but that will improve. I think Cassel's clock management sucked worse.

He is doing the opposite of what we did last year.

Last year, we built the offense around the players we had. A System that suited the players, regardless of talent, regardless if it handicapped our run game.

This year, Haley is building a system, and then finding players to fit in his system. I like that a lot better. We will find players who will excel in his offense. Last coach who did this had pretty good offensive success.

Like the Phoenix, this organization will rise from the ashes to usher in a new dawn of supremacy in this league.

Mark my mother****ing words:

Kansas City Chiefs:
AFC West Champs
2011-2012 Season
AFC Champion: 2012

Believe it!

Finding players to fit his system?

Like trading for an inaccurate, spread QB to operate a downfield, timing based pro-style offense?

im with you...it sucks now, but we need to be a little more patient. its easy to become bitter and resentful. but that doesnt help anyone. rome wasnt built in a day, and great teams arent either.

Pioli and Haley have pretty much sucked this season. But they are both rookies. If they learn from their experiences and THEY get better, eventually the team will get better.

At this point, hoping the two of them get better makes a lot more sense than blowing the whole thing up and starting over again.

Yeah, after the Hindenburg blew up, they stopped building zepplins. Now, we just have to figure out how to adjust next year. Here's my Xmas list:

1. Haley has to own up that he is young, and does not have all the answers.

2. A new DC (Crennel please)

3. A new OC (one that doesn't threaten Haley, but knows how to make lemonade out of lemons).

4. Some "gray hair" on the coaching staff to help Haley get through his freshman anxiety.

5. Unless a "can't miss" NT is available in the 2nd, no more D-linemen in next years draft please.

6. There are no good O-line free agents, so trade one of our fifth picks for someone's "decent" lineman.

7. Someone tutors Cassel on the 2 minute drill (especially when you have no time outs), and removes any possibility of passing on a short route unless it is a pattern out of bounds. See #3 above.

8. A good draft based upon BPA, rather than reaching for a position.

Charles was so much the offense yesterday. If something should happen to him our RB's are like extinct.
I can understand his frustration(charles). Castille is a joke. He shouldn't be in the NFL.

Our wide outs need to hold that ball dammit! We're in the pros for chris sake now act like one. Makes me wonder if we will draft a wide receiver in the 1st round the way those clowns be dropping balls.

I will give Haley a mulligan for his first year in office and handed one of the worst teams in football to boot.
