Hold on.

You really think it's a good idea to spend three consecutive Top 5 picks - and over $100M - on guys that play a comlementary position?

So New England ran the spread last year? So basically what you are saying is that the spread offense inflates the stats and possibly the value of a QB. And their value can't be accurately evaluated based on their time in the spread (like last year)? If that is true, no one in their right mind would ever trade a 2nd round pick for a spread QB and give him $61MM. That would be insane.

Brady is enjoying most of his Hall of fame success in the pros running a spread.

well ... yes

or you better be prepared to run the same system he enjoyed the success in so that you get your money's worth.

And the conversation you felt compelled to chime in on was referring to DRAFTING a spread QB - and understanding how they are at a disadvantage making the adjustment into the pros.

So it would be even more insane (is there such a phrase?) to trade for a spread QB, pay him $61MM and then ask him to work out of a pro style offense?

When you have as many holes as the Chiefs you draft BPA. For once it could be in a position that we need (unlike our reaches the last two seasons).

Yes. That's why Gimpy works out the shotgun.

yes ... at the least considered very reckless.

Be it the draft or free agency, watching a player perform in one system and then expecting him to succeed in another is risky at best.
