That's probably the best argument one could make for Haley returning.

Pioli has said MANY times that he feels the coach should be the face of the franchise.

If that's true, why didn't he just stay as the GM in NE? Why come to a losing organization if he doesn't want to run the show himself?

This. I'd be very very surprised if Haley gets the axe after the year, despite what everyone on here seems to think about him being an awful coach.

I don't have any inside info (well, about as much as Athan does ), but I'm willing to bet there's a lot of new faces around Arrowhead come August. Pioli knows that Haley needs a new DC and an OC as well as a whole lot of talent. He knows that the fans need this team to improve and I believe he'll do everything he can to make this a competative team next year.

If nothing else, I expect an interesting offseason.
