Didn't they also have a tight end that came out not long ago that blew the **** out of his knee during their senior season?

I don't know where you got this from but every report I read called this a "nice play that broke up a completion"

Mays makes big mistake

The South practiced in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts.

Southern California safety Taylor Mays drew the ire of one general manager and a team's top pro personnel man when he leveled wide receiver Andre Roberts (The Citadel) on a deep route. Mays was covering over the top to help the cornerback on the play.

In that drill, the NFL types just want to see Mays make a play on the ball. They can see how he hits on film or when everybody is in full pads.

The Taylor Mays story is going to be fun to watch through this week and the combine. At least for today, he and Cody probably got the most press. Mays being on the positive side and Cody the negative kind. If Taylor can look decent on pass coverage this week, he is making himself millions of dollars as his stock rises.

Mays will be a major offseason riser, he's his listed size so if all the stories of him running a 4.3 come true, that's all it will take.

Travis Beckhum is who you are probably thinking of. He thought about coming out as a junior in the 2008 draft but stayed one more year at Wisconsin and ended up with hamstring injuries for his first few games and then later breaking his fibula.

The NY Giants drafted him in the 3rd round based on what he did during his junior year.

So is everyone going to freak out when the Chiefs take McClain and Cody with their first 2 picks?

I've been saying for awhile that Cody would likely fall, I won't put it past the Chiefs 1 bit to use a 2nd rounder on him with the idea that they can get him into better shape.

I'm sure others would object but I think it is very possible that KC would do that draft. They still have to get a good center that can start for them and a starting safety.

Not saying that is all they need but it would be a step in the right direction.

Romeo Crennel wanted 350 lb NT Shawn Rogers bad enough to trade for him. I could see Romeo wanting Terrence Cody to stand in the middle of his defense and take up blockers. Rolando McClain would also help anchor the middle and help with our run defense.

I'm not saying this is the best or only answer to improve the team. I know they have to improve the defense with NT, ILB, and safety. Another combination might be Berry, Spikes, and Ross or Allen, Washington, and Troup or any combination of the above players.

Remember the epsiode where AVGN said "****" from the bottom of his heart and then destroyed his basement like Godzilla?

Well...there you go.

To me, I think you could very easily have the first 5 draft picks:

1) Berry
2a. Sapp
2b Pouncey
3. Danario Alexander
4. Micah Johnson

And in round 5 you could go after Troop, Demarcus Granger, or even Cam Thomas for DT, all of whom, project well to 0 technique.

If you use a 3 on Alexander when a guy like Damaryius Thomas is gonna go in the 2nd, that's horrible value, Thomas is a light years better prospect.

That would be great. I really enjoy this time of the year with all of the different draft possibilities. Kind of like the night before Christmas. Last year I got a lump of coal though.

Last year we needed to improve on those positions. Hopefully we will do that this year.
