2010 CP Mock info thread

Guys,

Welcome back. The 2010 CP Mock will keep the same format as last year. We'll have a great group of 16 dedicated owners who will be responsible for drafting for TWO teams each. This should speed up the process and eliminate some of the problems we've had in years past. - it worked extremely well last year, and I've gotten nothing but positive feedback.

This will be a full 7 round mock, and the anticipated starting date will be Monday, March 8th. This ensures we get done in time for the real draft, and if for some reason we fly through it and finish early, we can always run back through the 1st and/or 2nd round armed with an extra few weeks of knowledge.

I've sent out PM's to all 16 owners from last year, and have already received confirmation from 15. I'm still waiting on DaKCManAP.

If you would like to be considered for a spot should one open up, feel free to declare in this thread. A vote will be taken among current owners to determine who gets the open spots, should any exist. Feel free to make suggestions on possible new owners as well.

I'd like to make assignments by Monday, January 18th. I'm also going to do my best to make sure everyone gets a team they want, or haven't had. Feel free to let me know if there is a specific team you want, and I'll do my best. I think the mock will be even more realistic if owners have at least one team they are interested in. Keep in mind, I'll do my best - no guarantees. Please make any team request by Wednesday, January 13th.

Making the assignments this early gives you the opportunity to do some homework and get an idea of your team's needs before Senior Bowl week (January 25-30) and the Combine. (February 24-March 2)

Any suggestions will be subject to a vote - ideas will be voted upon by the owners PRIOR to the day we begin. Feel free to use this thread as a sounding board for ideas, or shoot me a PM.

We will use the draft order as it stands on the day we begin, including all trades that have taken place up to that date. Once the Mock begins, any trades between NFL teams will be ignored.

Again, any questions, don't hesitate.

EDIT 1/11/2010: Team assignments and rules clarifications.

Compensatory picks will be added again this year PROVIDED they are made public by the time we finish the 3rd round, just like last year.

As you know, I agree with that statement, but I fully expect STL to take Suh and pick up a QB in FA or trade.

Arrowhead East applies in more ways than one, you know.

I remind my Lion buddies about that(passing on Oher) often but the Lions coaching staff and admin think Backus is a good LT. I've always thought since his college days that JB would make a fine and maybe even a very good RT in the NFL but he would be overmatched on the left side. This is one time where I wish I was wrong because I really like JB just not as a LT and his playing there has been a cornerstone of the Lions problems since Millen picked him.

I agree with this Backus would be a solid fit at RT.

It'll be interesting to see who I pick.

Maybe I'll turn True Fan and draft Black Tait #1 overall to bookend with Jason Smith, since you can never have enough spread LTs who never play in a 3 point stance.

If he falls, don't think that I'm not going to ruin the draft by pairing Spiller with Johnson.

Eazyb81 has informed me he needs to drop out of this year's draft, so there's a slot open drafting for the Browns and Bears.

BossChief and Billay tied for 2nd place in the voting last month.

First one of you to send me a PM claiming the spot gets it.

Go.

I'm so much more active than both of them...I'm more active than anyone...

It's too bad you don't want guys that would pick within 15 minutes of the person who picked before them.

Have you offered even one opinion about a single prospect this year?

Have you watched more than the NC game in college football?

A bunch of posts screaming "look at me" doesn't connote activity in relation to draft discussion.

When it comes time for the mock golden shower, you'll be first on the list.

Billay, you better do well. I passed on sending the pm in hopes that I will be considered for the next open spot should one come available so that you could be part of this thing.

IMO you earned it for how much you contribute to draft related discussions and to be honest, you are a better addition that I to this thizang.

I just hope I am next in line for a open spot should one come available this year or next because I can definitely add something to it.

Good Luck buddy!

Thank you to the couple guys that pmd me about the opening as well, it is much appreciated and didnt go unnoticed. If any of you really dont care about this thing, shoot me a pm and Ill gladly take your spot .
