Peyton Manning

So...

Do you guys still think Tom Brady is better than Peyton Manning?

Everyone always said that he played with the better supporting cast...which is why Tom was better.

Now Peyton is playing behind a terrible offensive line and throwing to the likes of Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon...having arguably his best year ever...just like I always said...it wasn't the OTHER players...it was Peyton Manning.

So...

Is Brady still better than Manning?

Just curious.

For me, though, Drew Brees IS an elite QB. If he's not the best in the league right now (I don't think he is. Manning still makes throws that he can't) then he's the 2nd best. It's not all about stats, sure, but if you have stats like Brees, you're obviously doing something right. Finally, this stat QB has a Super Bowl ring to his credit too, so people can stop chucking shit around and saying, "I'LL TAKE THE QB WHO WINS SUPER BOWL RINGS LAWL!!!"

Manning didn't suck, he choked. There's a difference. Sucking takes a whole game. Choking is one BIG play.
He threw a bunch of dump off passes, he threw passes Matt Cassel can throw, that's fine that was probably the game plan, but lets not act like it was a magical performance that transcended time.

Manning had one of the best passes in Super Bowl history tonight. He also had one of the worst.

not going to take anything away from Brees...he executed their gameplan precisely..

but yep, agreed 100% and that's what I meant earlier when I said...

BREES DIDN'T MAKE A SINGLE TOUGH PASS THAT ENTIRE GAME...

MANNING COMPLETED 3 OR 4 PASSES ON 3RD DOWN ALONE (AND ONE 4TH DOWN) THAT WERE JUST AMAZING PASSES.

Like...

OMG

That. Just. Happened.

Amazing.

Unrealistic expectations by people on this board.

The Colts are literally a 2 or 3 win team without Manning at QB...the fact he's THIS good amazes me...he would've had our Chiefs team in the playoffs. No doubt in my mind. Dwayne Bowe would be a perennial pro bowl receiver.

If you won its magical. I've seen QBs win super bowls with MUCH uglier games. He did a fucking superb job. A QB doesn't have to push the ball to win games. Do you forget how Montana managed the West Coast offense? I guess he wasn't good though since he didn't push the ball like Marino did.

That's fine I'm not saying Brees sucks or played a poor game, I'm seeing it was this outstanding performance, it was a solid safe performance, it wasn't special.

I don't think Montana is the best ever so you're making that argument to the wrong guy.

Who is? You seem more interested in great plays and statistics than wins.

Games are not won on 40 yard passes for the most part. Game management is what wins games. Brees managed his game better than Manning. And he won.

The only OMG pass I remember was the pass to Clark. My jaw dropped on that one. Other than that, what other passes were there?

they were in hurry up mode playing against the clock...shit is going to happen...

football is a game of inches...the three plays that were needed to win a game that featured little defense all went to the Saints...

Plain and simple.

If I thought Manning was at fault for the loss, I'd peg it with him and eat my crow...I call them like I see it and in no way can I pin that loss to Peyton Manning.

I'm sorry...

Just can't do it. Only so many times in a season can one player continuously bail an entire team out...yesterday just wasn't meant to be.
