Personally I don't think it would be a bad idea and I'm not one that is ready to hang Cassel from the nearest tree. I wasn't as open to it a month ago or so, but at the end of the day I've pretty much decided that the problem San Diego had with Brees & Rivers, would be a good one to have. Same scenario with Warner & Leinart, Montana & Young. IF the structure of Cassel's contract really was set up to be able to cut loose of him after 2010, without much of a cap hit, they need to do what is in the best LONG TERM interest of the Chiefs. It may not be popular among the "win now" crowd but they'll forget what side of it they were on when we are winning playoff games because we have a Pro Bowl QB. Before one of you bass-turds says it, I'm certainly not saying Cassel is Warner, Montana or Brees. |
