***Winter Olympics Thread***

As I live in Vancouver...and we are hosting the world..let me say good luck to all the American athletes....I'll be cheering for Americans' Vonn and that red-headed snowboard dude...but Hockey...gotta be Canada. Enjoy!

I officially deem ice dancing the most useless of all Olympic sports. And I'm including summer and winter in that statement.

There's nothing else on for the next 1:15 or so, and I am considering turning this shit off.

(And I'm delayed on NBC compared to the rest of you if that clarifies anything.)

What game were some of you watching? Lack of effort from Canada? Canada lost because of Miller and a couple of serious bone-head plays in their own end from Niedermayer and Brodeur that resulted in goals for Rafalski and Drury. Almost another due to Pronger's stupidity.
The puck was in the U.S' end all game. Yes, there were some players who were invisible out there (Iginla, I'm looking your way) but tonight's loss wasn't the result of a lack of effort. It was stupid plays and a hot goalie. Brodeur was hardly tested tonight. Any other night while with Jersey, Brodeur doesn't let in more than one of those shots.
Don't be surprised to see Luongo next.
I'm not too concerned at this point, maybe a little but back 8 years ago when Canada won the the Gold they did loose early to Sweden then took it the rest of the way.
The U.S. won fair and square and I do wish them lot's of luck the rest of the way. If Canada can't do it then I'm definitely rooting Red, White and Blue. We both play the same style and they're a lot of American players I highly respect, except Kesler, I want to give that whiney bitch a two hander.

The athletes didn't ask for that money, the federal government gave it to them willingly after winning the bid in Vancouver. And if you are so worried about medals, you'd know that Canada will get a ton of them in the final week here. Do some ****ing research.

I'll never understand why people whine so damn much about people that they've never followed or never will follow ever again.

I tend to agree. Miller stood on his head tonight. Otherwise, it was a pretty even game all around. Canada ruled on shots, but they were just throwing most of them at the net. USA was picking and choosing more and, therefore, got more quality shots off.

Brian Burke has built a good team. It's about time that he did the same with the Leafs.

I am Canadian, you stupid Vancouver ****face.

They'll win numerous medals in hockey, curling, speed skating, short track, and apparently these ice dancers have all but locked up a medal.

Not a canucks fan, I'm a chiefs fan. You don't have to live in Canada and have to love your local team. Don't care about the canucks one bit. I play the game , I don't watch it. And I'm born and raised here. Now if your vocabulary is so limited that you have to constantly use ******* in all your posts maybe you should quit spending so much time on this site and go back and get your G. E. D. Just a thought.

Now who's getting all worked up? Enjoy the -C Temps. Be sure to plug your block heater in on your Ford Fiesta. Have a great night!

I was bitching about Chris Drury being on the roster instead of TJ Oshie...but I'll admit I was wrong. Drury was a rock on the penalty kill and played his ass off during Canada's late game barrage.
