I disagree. The coach is standing there doing nothing but making sure you go to the right lane. Thats his only job, not really anything else. If you and he disagree, you have to assume that it is YOU who is wrong and trust the coach, because you were busy skating the last 30-40 seconds, the coach has presumably been standing there doing nothing, focused only on your next lane.

Rule #1 in all sports: do what your coach says. If you dont like it you can fire the coach or go to another team after the game.

I'd say Rule #1 as an athlete is trust your own judgement and abilities. If he actually believed the outside was the right lane, he wouldn't have gone left, no matter what the coach said.

Tough luck, Sven. Maybe American reporters will know your name 4 years from now for a different reason.

All of those are good matchups, I think. Obviously the one you highlighted is the premier one, but each is interesting in it's own way. I watched the Slovakian team last night. They have some skilled players and some fast skaters. It'll be interesting to see them against the Swedes. If the Swedes take stupid penalties like they did in the opening round it could be a tight game.
