Rumor has it, Westbrook headed to Minny?

Anybody else hear this? That would make an awesome tandum of Peterson and Westbrook, this would also allow Chestor Taylor to hit the market. This would be huge for Minnesota!

I just see the Vikes filling holes with golden oldies, it worked with Favre... but the didn't get there... reminds me of the old 90's chiefs teams. I just worry that before you know it, you look up and Peterson is done, JA has slowed, and a window to build a great team is closed.
If these guys are going to win a SB it will have to be within the next 2 years. Building for now rather than the future in Minnesota's situation is not a bad idea. Teams move in waves. Soon enough Indy will be the laughing stock of the NFL again. If Favre comes back that gives them an even better chance to make it to the SB. There is nothing wrong with signing Westbrook if they can't get a deal done with Taylor, plus having Westbrook should only help Peterson better understand the west coast offense and the receiving part of it.

What they really need is someone to help Peterson understand how the **** to hang on to a football.

Yes, this. If he could do that Minny wouldn't need a 3rd down back.

It's kind of what the league has turned into though. If you have a guy who can do it all your in luck. But if you have multiple guys who can do everything you have something special. No, Westbrook is not as good as he once was, but this would not be a bad move for Minny at all.

I think for a team trying to win right away, like Minnesota, this is a great move. I'd love to see Taylor come in and spell Charles but I'm not sure we can afford him with the other holes this team desperately needs to fill up.

I agree with that Pest, but he won't be asked to carry the ball 20+ times a game. More than likely he might* and I say might* touch it 10 times a game. I think he can stay healthy on that work load.

give me break. if AP doesn't "understand" the offense by now... he is handicapped. Sure, sign Westbrook, but he is done.

FWIW, there is NO WAY Favre, even if he comes back, can play better than he did this year... everything went right, and it still wasn't good enough. I'd just be worried about missing out on a potentially great team - with some HOF talent.

Yep. I think also as a 3rd down back, he'll stay healthy. He won't be responsible to shoulder the entire load in MN.

One of my best friends is a Vikings fan. If this were to happen he would ****ing explode with rage. He is still gracious about the Jared Allen trade and makes sure to send me a thank you every time he gets a sack

Letting Taylor go when they have a great chance to win it all would be stupid.
