Official 2010 NFL Combine Thread

Post your observations of the combine here. I know some things I'll be looking at: Mount Cody's weight, 40 times of players we've been talking about in the various threads, or the number of times Tebow's name gets mentioned. Post your observations here.

I just watched it; I agree. Jesus man, it's the biggest interview of your life and they're dropping every other pass, or running 1/2 speed in order to catch it.

Of course Bryant isn't running he's trying to protect himself hugely, WR and DB are where the 40 matters.

And Brandon Banks better be able to run...he weighs 149lbs.

And here is news I'm coming across right now...

Three sources familiar with the situation tell Yahoo's Jason Cole that Dez Bryant's behavior in college was "consistently irresponsible."

"I wouldn’t draft that kid unless I had someone to wake him up in the morning to get to meetings, someone to wake him up for practice and someone to wake him up for games," one source said. Another source stressed that Bryant wasn't just late to meetings, practice, or warmups. He was often late to actual games. Yet another characterized Bryant as "just goofy." It's possible that teams are spreading bad info about Bryant in hopes of spurring a draft-day slide. We still don't see him lasting until the 12th pick

That's off rotoworld

Joe Haden-DB-Player Feb. 28 - 7:43 pm et

According to NFL Network's Mike Mayock, some teams are concerned that Florida CB Joe Haden will run an unimpressive forty time this week.

Haden ran 4.34 in high school. "There's some people out there that think he might only run 4.52 or 4.55," Mayock said. "If that's the case, people will be concerned." Mayock indicated that Haden is only a borderline top-ten pick.

Colt McCoy-QB-Player Feb. 28 - 7:39 pm et

NFL Network's Charley Casserly reports that Texas QB Colt McCoy's shoulder checked out fine during Combine medicals.

"No long range problems" are anticipated. One source has a late-first to early-second round grade on McCoy, but expects franchises that utilize the vertical passing game to shy away from him. Citing McCoy's "quick decision making and accuracy," the source expects McCoy to appeal primarily to teams that run the West Coast offense. McCoy lacks ideal arm strength.

Mike Williams-WR-Player Feb. 28 - 7:35 pm et

One league source opined to Profootballtalk.com that Syracuse WR Mike Williams had a disappointing Combine.

"Mike Williams did not help himself," the source said. "He was supposed to be a 4.4 guy and was closer to 4.62. He was horrible in interviews, blaming everyone but himself for his problems. He is a great talent but a train wreck as a person." The source has Williams as a late-round prospect. Williams won't be able to run at Syracuse's Pro Day after quitting the team.
Source: Profootballtalk on NBC Sports

Russell Okung-T-Player Feb. 28 - 7:21 pm et

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that the Lions "are very enamored" with Oklahoma LT Russell Okung.

La Canfora said it's not a given that Detroit selects a defensive tackle with the No. 2 overall pick, although he indicated that the Lions might target Okung only if they "trade back." Trading out of the top three is virtually impossible, though, and Okung isn't going to be available for long.

I'll add the RB's today were uninspiring for the most part.

Spiller is a freak, Jahvid Best is a little fast guy, Jon Dwyer looks like he spends to much time eating donuts, Charles Scott looks uncoordinated.

Although I did think LeGarette Blount resembled Shonn Greene in the way he was doing things.

Wow, McClain w/ the least amount....kinda shocking. And teams are saying he might run a 4.7 I read somewhere?? His stock might really drop.....

But what does that say about him? Only 21 reps....

McClain physically speaking is not a clean prospect, it's why some teams love him and others have him in the 2nd round.

He's taller than most other LB's so his arms probably make him benching a bit harder. When you have super long arms it's harder to rep.

But he's doing nothing to quiet the notion that he's scheme limited.

Mizzou's S&T program does a really good job with their players. Moore and Hood both had really good bench #s last year and Weatherspoon knocked it out of the park (which is to be expected if you ever see him in person, he's the epitome of barrel chested).

McClain did 24, that listed number is slightly off, I just saw it in the video. It's still not all that impressive, when you see McClain who they show right after Weatherspoon, McClain looks tall and lanky and Spoon looks thick...I question if teams are going to wonder about how McClain is carrying his weight he doesn't look as big as he's listed.

Cam Thomas did 31 for anyone wondering.
