I thought this was an interesting tidbit from Michael Lombardi

Some teams are more interested in 2011 than 2010 in terms of free agency. The 2011 UFA class will be a very talented group, and if the cap returns, teams will have to have the room to participate. With the exception of a few players, this year’s group is not very talented….

If they draft right and a couple-three kids from the 2009 class pan out, 2011 might be a good year to spend in FA for the Chiefs.

I agree. But I don't see what would make me want to believe that we will spend much money in 2011, if we have a 2011 season. Lets hope.

Patience has nothing to do with it. Players want to play for a competitive team. If KC has another season like 09 or 08, the chances of aquiring players become less and less likely unless the player is only interested in $$$$$$.

Eventually, you have to stop saying "be patient" and put a winning product on the field. Otherwise games are blacked out, losing seasons pile up, and nobody wants to play for you.

And by competitive teams if you mean the ones who pay the most you would be right.

I'll never understand why this is such a difficult concept. The Lions convinced 2 players to come and play for them. Why? BECAUSE THEY OFFERED THE MOST. Agents know what players are going to get on the market, they do their research.

Neither took another visit.

VandenBosch wanted to play for Schawarz again, and Linehan stood on the table to get Burleson because of their time together in Minnesota.

Neither were going on another visit - they want to play in Detroit.

I know that sounds crazy to some people, but at least they are building towards SOMETHING. We're just spinning our wheels.
