Then put him in the damn 'pen.

Send him to Omaha with a 90 pitch limit.

C'mon! Part of preparing your team for the future is establishing it's mentality. This loss will linger and you know it; you've seen it.

This is a crippling loss. Fans are going to go home from the K feeling the same as this board is feeling right now. They'll be disheartened and unwilling to bother with the next homestand.

You cannot just punt starts, games or seasons...ever. Otherwise you're going to continue in your pattern of organizational malaise.

haha, they actually did it.

The Royals just gave up a walk, 6 hits, and 6 runs in an inning where they struck out the side. Anyone remember that happening?

So we stretch him to 110 pitches or so. Then what do you do in the 8th inning?

This was the quickest that I've become uninterested in a Royals baseball season, that I can remember.

Crippling? We're already in a coma.

If we had the pieces in place, then I believe that mentality is important, but you don't establish a thing with the 6-9 we trot out on our lineup.

Go to your setup man - Juan Cruz.

Cruz coming in with the bases empty in the 8th is an entirely different animal than coming in with 4 runs in, the lead lost and a lot of green ahead of him still.

Baseball's not as hard as you fellas want to make it.

Was it last year Thome killed Farnsworth for the year and the entire season became a parade of relievers that were incapable of pitching to their stuff? That's between the ears.

And Hillman (and anyone that agrees with that decision) just started the cycle anew.

All you can do is put your team in the best position to win - the Royals clearly did not do that. On opening day. In front of it's home fans. In the same manner that destroyed last season.

Yeah, that's gonna have this club and this fanbase geared up for the rest of the season.

Your only hope is that the Tigers MR sucks worse than yours. I suppose it's possible, but I still disagree vehemently with the decision.

In this thread, Chiefs Planet melts down over an opening day lead blown by the bullpen.

Have we seen this before?

And thankfully you're not the manager, otherwise Grienke would be throwing 120 pitches 5 nights a week.
