True story:

On Sept. 11, 1974, my Dad (a Cards fan) was in NY on a business trip. As he got dressed for dinner in his hotel room he watched the beginning of the Mets-Cards game on TV. Hours later, after dinner and after-dinner drinks, he returns to the hotel room, flips on the TV -- and they're still playing. He had to fly to Phoenix the next morning, so he didn't stay up to the very end.
