Clady injured his patellar tendon

http://www.rotoworld.com/content/pla...172459&id=4616

Two NFL sources tell the Denver Post that Broncos LT Ryan Clady has injured his patellar tendon in a non-football-related incident.

A patellar tendon tear in late April would certainly jeopardize Clady's availability for the start of the season, though the severity is unknown at this time. Denver's top backup at left tackle is presumably usual starting right tackle Ryan Clady, who is also less than 100 percent due to toe surgery. The Broncos did draft Utah left tackle Zane Beadles in the second round over the weekend, though his best NFL position is at guard or right tackle.

I've had jumper's knee with a rupture....If it's a 50% tear, which is pretty much what I had....his knee will not feel or work right for quite a while, and it'll be sore as shit to the touch for a year if its anything like mine was.

Like you said earlier, he will have access to better rehab than you did. He is also only 23 years old, he will heal quickly.

Rehab has little to do with this. Being 23 has little to do with this. A tendon injury is much, much different than a broken bone or pulled muscle. Especially one like the patella which has a tremendous amount of strain on it even on a normal sized human being.

He will have troubles with it the rest of his life. I was back running 6 months after surgery with a lot of pain. After about a year the everyday pain was gone. That was 7 years ago. On occasion it will still swell up with no warning.

A surgeon was just on a local Denver radio show and said that an ACL tear is much more serious than a patellar tendon tear. Said Clady will only need 6 weeks of immobilization and then the rest is just rehab. Said 3-4 months is a reasonable amount of time for a 50% tear.

I was 19 when mine hit, and I'm a workout freak so rehabbing came second nature.

I don't understand why you fight the notion that it may be a 6 month deal... 3-4 months is 'reasonable'... players have setbacks all the times with things like this and he's not your average person with an average job, so I think reasonable is more hopeful than anything at this point.

I am just going by what has been reported and what doctors and Clady himself have said about the injury. Everybody is saying 3-4 months and until something different is reported that is what I will believe.

Lineman, torn knee tendon, not good. Especially at LT since they seem to be the most athletic in a line.
