Denver didn't gain a competitive advantage by delaying payments to Elway and TD. Knowing opposing teams signals = huge competitive advantage.

Denver delaying payments to Elway and TD had nothing to do with winning the SB. Their salaries that they were paid were listed on the salary cap, they just weren't paid. Bowlen was trying to build a $400,000,000 stadium and needed to save as much money as he could. He didn't spend any more money on players that year than any other team.
