I think this was the first funk album I bought as a kid and I bought it because I thought the cover was cool. Turned out the music wasn't at all what I expected- it was more psychedelic than funk and I loved it.

My funk buying decisions were usually determined by what I heard on Soul Train every Saturday.

Now I'm going to have to do some video browsing. Let's see if I can understand the lyrics to "Mighty Mighty" 30 years later.

Eddie Hazel could give Jimi Hendrix a run for his money on guitar. I have a T-Shirt with that Maggot Brain cover. Bought it a couple years ago, always get's comments when I wear it.
