If Spain doesn't win the whole thing, I'll be very surprised. Argentina barely qualified. They have shown quality but it wasn't exactly against the strongest competition. Then again, when you have Messi, Higuain, Milito and Tevez as options upfront, you always have a good chance to win.

I would give anything for a Netherlands vs Spain final with the Netherlands winning 3-2. JIMP!

Just looked it up and the US wasn't invited to Copa America 2011. Mexico and Japan were.

Theres a chance Japan may be disallowed, but I wonder if CONEMBOL might reconsider and invite the United States instead.

It was okay... the first half was pretty boring, but it got a little better as it went along.... thought it was weird they define OT as two periods, but end up playing both after a goal. I'd do everything possible to avoid a shootout, like making it sudden death... that's the dumbest gimmick in sports.

Eh, I guess it does okay for a 'have it on while doing a bunch of other stuff' kind of sport, and if you went to the P&L or to a Wiz game or something with a bunch of friends, you could at least talk football or something until something cool happens, like a shot on goal. For all the dead time, they are great athletes and can do some pretty cool stuff with a soccer ball.

I'd be more on Spain's tip if Torre's had a couple more weeks to recoup. He still has the brilliance to make opportunities, but his sea legs are letting him down on finishes. If he rebounds in short order, I'll be fine with them going all the way.
