I'm sure there are a few restaurants in the KC area that have a steak challenge, but it's possible he won't do steaks. I think I've only seen him do one steak challenge in all of his episodes. There could be a lot of reasons they picked out Papa Bob's that we don't know of. I bet he wanted to be the first to win the challenge, no matter how difficult and ridiculous it was.

You could be right - he's done 3-4 steak challenges before that I've seen, but maybe he just REALLY wanted to try BBQ.

the only challenge presented to him that I ever thought to myself was utterly impossible was the recent steak challenge in Puerto Rico. I do not think that it was physically possible to complete it given the time limit.

Once I saw that guy put pulled pork and hamburgers on that sandwich, and he left off burnt ends. I made the decision that I'll never try that place.
