Really? Meh, to each his own. K-State will be a decent team pretty soon but IMO, shitty teams like Baylor, Iowa State and now KU are the reason why the division is losing storied teams like Colorado and NU. If all the teams were at least mediocre, the tv money and attendance money would be much improved. Then teams wouldn't be in such a hurry to bail. But hey, what do I know? I just started getting into cfb about 2 years ago.

What are you talking about?

Kansas won a BCS bowl game 3 seasons ago. Something MU and KSU have never done. Yesterday was bad but it was the guy's first game. I think the only KU football coaches to win their debuts were Fambrough and Terry Allen... Accomplished coaches in the past like Glen Mason and Mangino lost their openers. Not making excuses but they are not on the level of Baylor or Iowa State.

Neb is not leaving because the level of football being played in the Big 12. The Big 12 is significantly more accomplished in football in recent years than the Big 10.

Nebraska thinks they are on the level with Texas or Oklahoma, etc... but they're not. Yes they've got a good defense right now but I personally think they are leaving for a league with more alumni and tv sets. So yes, attendance is higher in those stadiums because of how many freaking people went to the school, not because they are good football teams.

You did get one thing right. KU is not on the level of Baylor or ISU. I don't recall either of those schools ever losing to a 1AA opponent.

Nebraska isn't on the same level as OU? Is that why they beat them last year dumbass? You might as well speak German when talking to Ku "fans" about football.

My point was, if all the teams in the big 12 were consistently competitive, other teams would not be in such a hurry to bail. Sure, KU strung together a few good years recently, but if they go back into the cellar the conference loses profitability. If the conference didn't have shit-hole teams like baylor or iowa state, (or if said teams could actually be at least mediocre) it would still be the big 12 instead of the big 9.5.

I don't think KU has lost to Iowa St since like 2004 and the last time they played Baylor the scored about 60.

So, no.

Since Mangino took over the school actually began trying to win at football. Basketball had reached the pinnacle of college athletics and KU has been determined to play championship level football (the football facilities are in the top ten nationally according to SI)...

I'm not saying TG is the answer. He may not be. This year will obviously be a step back from Kansas' recent success and hopefully we will know sooner than later whether or not HCTG is the right guy for the job. If KU decides he isn't they won't take long to pull the trigger. The school has the wealthiest and most powerful alumni in the state and even though Kansas has accomplished so much with their incredibly small state population those alumni will not stand to go back to Terry Allen days. Not gonna happen.

Nebraska has torn the fabric of 100 years worth of tradition completely apart. I hope it works out for them but we shall see.

Remember the Big 10 has programs such as Northwestern and Indiana, wouldn't these be your Iowa St and Baylor? You argument doesn't make sense to me.

Fine with me. It was a debut loss. Something most head football coaches in America experience.

Against a 1AA opponent? Yes, that's a problem.

Let's move on to GA Tech

How can my point not make sense???
I'm not arguing, btw. Just stating my opinion, sir. Indiana is a terrible football school, you're right. Northwestern? Meh, not terrible but definitely not consistent at all. However, the big 10 has a lot more competitive teams and therefore more tv money.

Getting back to my original post this morning:
I was stating that I hope KU pulls their heads out of their asses and puts something together for the sake of the conference. Football is better when more teams are good, or at least decent. When Texas Tech started winning and KU, K-state and Oklahoma State were all good, every game was on national tv.

Now then, when NU was bad a few years ago, I loved every second of it so maybe I'm a bit of a hypocrite here. But you try living in huskerland.

Fine, I'm just saying. If Turner Gill doesn't show improvement during this year and next I know KU will have him out. Perkins will be gone and when new ADs come aboard they usually like to bring in their own guy in major sports (football and basketball)
