My deductible is $500 too but they have a special windshield replacement that it is only $100. If it's not cracking and just a chip they will fix that free.

My insurance will cover the cost to replace the windshield with a $100 deductible. Might want to check your policy.

Not that this helps you now, Frazod...but we have Geico and I had 3 small rock strikes on the windshield. I called up and they sent Safelite out free of charge to me and filled the chips at my house. It doesn't hurt to check.

I had a chip in mine a while back and learned online that some insurance policies have a no-deductible-applied windshield policy. However, I'm with State Farm as well and my policy didn't have it, so I just paid mine out of pocket.

Depends on the window.. What sensors are built in if any..

My blazer was 50bucks, My avalanche was 90 some bucks.. It was cheaper for me to pay out of pocket then use insurance.. If yours does get into the 200-300 dollar range, see what your windshield replacement costs through insurance..

I'd definitely contact your insurer. Cracked windshields are safety issues and oftentimes fixed at no cost to you.

Probably between 200 and 500 bucks.

Call every little place you can though. When I had to get the back windshield of my car replaced cause some dick through a bag of nuts and bolts through it, every place I called wanted around $500 because they had to go out of their way to get it from somewhere else and it would take a few days to get it. I called this one guy who barely spoke any English and he just so happened to have the exact windshield and charged me like $150, and I tipped him $30 for all the money he saved me.

safelite windshield repair (down here, I'm pretty sure they're nationwide) advertises the fact that they have a resin that will fix the crack (no need to replace windshield, apparently) and it's covered by most insurance companies. don't ask me, never had to try.

It's my understanding that the damage has to be smaller than a dollar bill for it to be repaired.
