Cassel was ineffective namely because of play calling. At the end of the game on 3rd and 4 we call a run that goes no where? WHY? Were we scared to have Cassel throw the ball 4 yards? He does that well. That being said I thought he held the ball a few times but he also got popped pretty good a few times as he was throwing.

Once again, WR routes/breaks take a little longer in the slop.

Rivers and his WR's had little problem. Granted Cassel doesn't get the protection Rivers was getting. Plus Rivers knows how to keep a play alive. Cassel doesn't do well at that.

The Chargers receivers were getting wide open on broken coverages. Other than Moeaki in the end zone, and the bubble screens, a 3 inch cushion was "wide open" by Chiefs receiver standards.

In all fairness, the Chargers O-line was holding like a mother trucker on nearly every single pass play down the stretch. Pretty hard to get much pressure when you have been on the field all night, and get held to boot.

If our O-line will be allowed to hold like that, maybe we will be able to have our receivers get some seperation like the Charger receivers had.

Or if we had a receiving threat so *&#%ing dangerous that THREE defenders were shitting themselves on each snap, allowing for single coverage on everyone else....

The wide open receivers were due to blown assignments. Young secondary + absolute fear of Antonio Gates = a couple of wide open plays.

And some serious friggin' holding that gave Rivers a lot more time than he should have had. I heard a report last week that said they thought O-linemen would get away with more holding due to the umpire being moved to the backfield. I believe it after last night. 61 and 66 held damn near every single play.

Actually, they had quite a few problems. Take away Berry's full-on retart plays, and SD didn't look that great either.

The rookie really got schooled. Reminded me of the first game when Kevin Ross was a rookie.
