Did anyone notice Taylor Mays on the field against the Chiefs?

I noticed he was completely invisible. Completely. I don't even remember his name being called.

Mecca?

LOL

I can't remember anyone ... although there's a lot of hyperbole around here during draft day ... well, come to think of it ... every day.

It wouldn't surprise me if, even though the "bust" word was not used, that the implication was there.

The term "Bust" wasn't used very much, but some people were very disappointed in the picks.

Call me crazy but completely bashing players, their ability to make an impact, calling them "gimmick" players, saying they will never even get on the field let alone contribute etc.....

That's calling them a bust, and you know of all the things said. I barely scratched the surface.

See GoChiefs article after we started 2-0.

The word "bust" does not have to be used to imply the same thing.

In other words, they didn't say "bust", but the fact that some didn't like the picks automatically implies "bust".

Why am I not surprised that Marcellus doesn't understand the arguments made against some of the 2010 draft picks (note the italics)?

If you want to discuss need vs pick etc... fine. Bottom line some people were calling them TERRIBLE picks. Not just the wrong choice in the spot, TERRIBLE.

Especially Arenas and Moeaki.

Arenas has played well at nickel as well as ST.

I understand what some of the arguments where, I also know that some people labeled them as busts. If you don't want to admit it, fine.

No. Mr. Mecca is very different than others, Mr. blueballs.

Almost as though he is like ... a Martian, or something. Or, some kind of devil-man who rips the still-living souls from mortals, dips the souls in a cornmeal and egg wash, then stuffs the souls down the garbage disposal so the souls wind up in the sewer and, eventually, the river, then the ocean where they are eaten by bacteria and turned into methane gas.

Lame.

Especially when Nate Allen, a second rounder, is owning.

So is Earl Thomas.
You could say both of those guys are owning Eric Berry as well.

You yourself said it was a waste of a second round pick to use on McCluster because you could never see him holding up for very long in the NFL.

And while I don't remember anyone actually calling them busts as soon as they were drafted, I certainly remember a LOOOT of people berating Pioli for this past draft.

But like I said, that's why posters are posters and guys like Pioli win NFL executive of the decade and have multi million dollar NFL jobs.

Neither Nate Allen nor Earl Thomas are "owning". WTF was Thomas owning when Rivers threw for 1 zillion yards on that defense? Yeah he had two picks, but aside from that the guy has done nothing.

Berry is a BIG reason why the Chiefs are 3-0 and the run defense has improved. He's blown a couple of coverages. Big ****ing deal. So did Polamalu and Reed in their rookie years. Learning coverages and reads takes a little time for rookies. Once he gets that he's going to be the next great safety in this league.
