The 49ers have been a major disappointment this year. They have plenty of talent on their roster but the coaching has been horrendous.

As for swings and misses, I think my predictions were the worst in this thread. I clearly underestimated the Chiefs based on preseason and overestimated their opponents (especially Cleveland and San Fran).

I don't think anyone REALLY believed they'd play this well. I was a bit optimistic based off the improved tackling shown in preseason and the offense scoring 22 a game the 2nd half of the year last year after Charles took over.

In fairness, Cleveland and SF would be MUCH tougher matchups now versus when we played them. Both teams were a complete cluster****.

And you know as well as I, the dipshits who said 10-6 or 11-5 never thought for a second it would happen.

Like PGM said, NO ONE honestly thought they'd play this well.

While I agree, I definitely based my predictions on their preseason performances. Earlier in the year, I thought they were a 6-8 team win and if "lucky", they might win nine.

But preseason was disastrous, IMO, and I placed way too much stock in their poor showings.

I won't be so quick to judge next preseason.

I'm not too surprised at the record given the teams they've played, but being top 5 in points scored , Bowe going beserk, and Cassel having a 22-4 ratio never came into the head of the looniest of homers.

I figured this team would be around 8-8 so I am not saying I was correct but to say nobody honestly expected a 10 win season is just BS.

Because you were wrong nobody can be right is basically what it comes down to.

100% disagree.

There's a difference between believing something because you have evidence to support that belief, and just throwing something on the wall and hoping it sticks.

I can't think of a single person that claimed we'd win 10+ games that showed any evidence as to WHY they felt that way.

The people who predicted 10+ are the folks that predict 10+ every ****ing year, hoping they're right.

Merry Christmas to you.

I did. I called 8-8 or 10-6 with a couple of breaks. I expected then to double their wins from 4-12, simply on the long overdue culture change, which Hali confirmed, and coupled with enough talent to build upon. The foundation has been laid, and the results are showing.

stop being such a sourpuss about other's high expectations.
