The ESPN "Expert" picks are in. 3 for the good guys, 5 for the bad guys, and AccuScore/SportsNation also with the bad guys. Don't worry though, we got this.

Yeah and the Raiders went 8-8 and got their ass handed to them a fair share of times. The Chiefs are better than the Raiders, sorry homie.

Chiefs 23 Ravens 17
Chiefs hold a slight 16-10 lead heading into the 4th, with mostly FG ending drives. The Ravens strike with a TD going up 17-16 and then Cassel orchestrates a final drive, giving the Chiefs the game winning TD... a TD strike to Chris Chambers (images of Joe Montana to Tim Barnett vs Pittsburgh in the '93 Wild Card Game). |

Chiefs won the games they had to win, Raiders did not. You deserve the playoffs, we do not. That doesn't justify AllThingsKC's claim that the OAK lines failed to push KC around.
OAK 2, KC 0 OAK 54, KC 30 You. Got. Worked. By. Oakland. |

According to madden nfl 2011 on the x-box the score will be 28-0 Chiefs. J. Charles rushed for 111 yards and it was the tight end that was key. Barry got a INT and the D came up big. D. Johnson got a INT for a TD late in the
4th Quarter. I think it will be pretty accurate + or - 7 points.

That was one of the two major moments of late game suck that we had this year, the other being Houston, where we gave up a ten point lead in the last ten minutes of the game. |

I'm not saying that the Chiefs didn't get worked over by Oakland. I just don't think they got worked over until midway in the 3 Qtr, and which point, the Chiefs seemed say, "F it, let's get ready for next week." You mentioned the Chiefs had 74 yards at halftime. So what? What was the halftime score? 10-3 Oakland. That's hardly "getting worked over." Were the Chiefs "getting worked over" when they tied the game at 10? Not if you looked at the score at that time.

The game in KC didn't matter all that much for KC, and I really think that if the playoffs were on the line the game would have been a lot different. Do I have any evidence to support that? No, except when you look at history in this league teams perform far better when they NEED to win. By no means did the Chiefs need that game. Also compare what I just said to your quote above, that's a pretty big problem if you can't win the games you really need. I've defended Oakland in arguments this year with other non AFC West fans, I thought they were headed in the right direction until what Al Davis did couple days ago. In a sick sort of way I liked it, because having KC/OAK on top of the west fighting for division titles for 5 years would be fun as hell. But when rival teams are in the playoffs I don't go posting shit on their board and act like its a moral victory (nor do I think it is) when they lose in the playoffs. I talk about it on my own teams board, or I just sit in my room and watch them lose AFC title games to Shittsburgh or get ****ed in the ass by the Bucs in the Super Bowl and laugh by myself. You're not even one of the Raiders fan that usually gets on my nerves, and I guess you're really not here either. I also know you're a respected Raiders fan here on CP, and you're also sort of right in what you're saying, I didn't read the entire thread. But what is the point of saying we got worked by Oakland? Are you claiming Oakland exposed how to get to Cassel and completely **** him up and they ruined any chance KC had vs Baltimore by doing so? Because I really don't think that's the case. I really believe the fact KC just didn't need the game all that bad had something to do with the Week 17 game, and the first game really wasn't anywhere near as bad.

hey all, ravens fan here. this is the way i see it
for all of you praying for a fast chief's start: don't count on it, and dont be discouraged when you dont get it. the ravens start fast but have no killer instinct whatsoever, specifically cam cameron and the offense. grey redstar is dead on in that aspect they have had 10 point leads over new england and buffalo in the 4th quarter and blew both of those. we had a 28-7 lead against houston and, if not for a big pick-6 in overtime, the texans have another 85+ yard drive to win the game. against tampa and cincy we had two touchdown leads and they had the ball to win or tie the game at the end but couldnt. and we sat on the ball the entire 2nd half against the steelers we let teams hangaround and have not put teams away all season. in the games afforementioned we have been outscored in the 4th quarter 59-3 so if the chiefs are down by two touchdowns in the 4th (which i expect them to be) dont count them out dont get me wrong, the ravens are a very talented team but i expect this game to be very close. hopefully the chiefs comeback falls just short BAL 24 KC 20 good luck and congrats on a great season. GO RAVENS!!! |
