I was back in town over the holidays and heard there's only like two stores still open. Pretty sad.

I remember when going to the Metro North Mall movie theaters and then going to the arcade across from it to watch some asian kid crush sh#t in Street Fighter 2 was an epic Friday night.

Last I checked, city owns all of it but Dillards.. (paraphrasing)The Dilards person keeps rejecting their plans because he says it is not good enough redevelopment.. So they are trying to use imminent domain on the last anchor store.. That Dillards person is the developer of Zona...

They again last I checked, want to make it an open air mall, theatre in the park and some condo's..

Personally as I have wrote before.. They just need to update the inside structure and then add the rest.. My plan..

Get Sears to move Montgomery Wards anchor from Antioch Mall..
Burlington Coat Factory to Dillards old spot from Antioch Mall..
24hour fitness into JC Penny's spot from Englewood and N Oak, put in swim lanes, huge climbing wall and courts..
Bring back Kelso's redesigned with a patio outside..
Fazolies built into the mall with a drive thru by the old Wards..
Turn the Wards tire building into a sports bar/night club..
Tear down the movie theatre out back and put in Sand volleyball complex in the area..
Can put the theatre in the park area out by the highway and Macy's..
Furrs Cafeteria can hopefully make a comeback inside the mall..


You get the anchors set up right with eateries and the smaller business will come from the overflow of shoppers.. Personally I hope it stays closed air mall, because I hate Zona type places..
