Aside from two quick peaks in the mid-80s and mid-90s, it was brutal around here. Back when the Colts were in the divison, and the AFCE was all about the Shula and Marino Dolphins and then later the Levy and Kelly Bills, and the Patriots and Colts were left to play in the annual "Toilet Bowl" against each other. First game I went to, as a teen in the 80s, the Browns broke Grogan's leg and beat the Patriots at that metal bowl of a piece of shit they called Sullivan/Schaefer Stadium. Next time I went, they lost to the freakin' Houston Oilers. We had ONE player in Canton, and he was a friggin' O-lineman. Our most historical moment was when an ex-convict drove a snowplow onto the field to beat the mighty Dolphins. Our second-most historical moment was when the owner's son got punched out by Matt Millen.

I have been a Pats fan since I was 6 years old = 1975
I do know how lucky we are. The Pats sucked ass for many years. Ya there were some good years with Steve Grougun ,Eisen at Q/B & Spidyman ,Fryer at wide out.
But never did I see the DYNASTY thing happening.
God the ass kicking I took in grade school wearing my Pats winter coat.
Every kid wore either a Stealer or a cowboys coat back then.
I stuck out like a sore thumb in late 70s.

Not sure where you were, but I grew up near Boston, mostly nobody wore any football gear. Football was waaay behind baseball and hockey in this town in terms of popularity.

Amazing that football is now equal to baseball, at least.

If Manning wants to win another SB, he's going to have to get out of IND. That team will not be able to be restored to a SB winner in the highly-productive years that Manning has left.

Heh.

If it could be limited to a single draft, I would probably pull a Ditka to make Manning a Chief. If I were the owner, I would damn near demand it. Imagine the revenue this single player would generate...

they need to get rid of that outdated shitty ****ing coaching staff...

Rex Ryan would have been a perfect coach for Peyton Manning...let Peyton and the Polians build that offense and then have Rex build up an actual defense that doesn't play that bend don't break cover 2 bullshit with undersized everyone that ends up keeping Peyton off the field the entire game.

It's shit football...the Jets would get 5 yards every time they ran the ball by default...it's happened to them all year...and every year of Peyton's career...

dude has had the least possessions in the NFL for seasons...some of that has to do with the fact he's known to have 9 or 10 minute drives...a lot of it also has to do with the fact his defense gives up those 9 or 10 minute drives as well.

**** the Tony Dungy tree...what an overrated, shitty, suckass coaching tree.

I miss the gold-old days of Boston sucking shit in most major sports, or being just good enough to rip fans' ****ing hearts out, which I'll term "KC style," since that's how we roll here.

I'm thinking back over the last 13 years (my tenure in town) and I can't think of a single team that's been good enough to rip anybody's heart out. Royals, Chiefs, it's all been a steady drone of suck.

I think the Chiefs will be there next year, though.

'95 and '97 Chiefs.

Grunhard tells the story that many on the '95 team were literally making SB preparations. In '97, a lot of analysts said that the two best teams in the NFL (us and the cheating ****ing Donks) met in the divisional round.
