It did. Because Ryan came out and defended the comments. Fine focus on dumb ass comments to the press rather than the beatings the Jets took at New England the last few times they played up there. Dumb ass comments won't affect the confidence of the players, 100 questions about the quality of play might.

Ryan might be distracting the media, but I imagine its Cromartie's comments that are hanging in the NE locker room.

Big deal. NE is going to show up and play and prepare no matter who says what.

The Jets are playing with house money. they got owned in the last meeting. And there is A LOT of pressure on the Pats to win this game. I know Mumbles and Brady can handle it. but there are a lot of young guys on defense that are new to this. and their defense isnt all that great if they dont have a huge lead and are only playing the pass.

I think the Pats are going to dismantle the Jets and win by 14+. I also think Rex is handling it all properly by focusing everything on him.

If the Pats get out to an early lead it might even get ugly. if it's close (14 points or less) I like the Jets chances. they have to weather the storm in the beginning of the game. and they have to score at least 28 points to have a chance. if Sanchez plays like he did against the Colts they wont have a chance.

Pats defense isn't great at anything except generating turnovers, which is a pretty darn thing to be good at of course.

Oh, and red zone defense. They're good at that also.

But third down defense and just sheer yardage given up is pretty much cover your eyes awful.

The Jets were able to run the ball on the Pats that Monday night until it got out of reach. and their running game sucked at the time. that was the best the o line has looked all season when they steam rolled the Colts in the 2nd half.

It sucks that we have to wait until ****ing 4pm on Sunday for this one though..lol

A lot of that came earlier in the year. The rookies have a full season under their belt and improved dramatically, not only on the scoreboard but in the stat sheet. I think CHFF had a blurb about the Patriots' opponents' QB rating, and how it was sky-high the first half of the season and much lower the second half of the season.

Besides, the Patriots' defense only sucks when they're facing a real quarterback. If they face Rapistberger in the AFCCG, I'm worried. If they face Rodgers and the Pack in the SB, I'm worried. The bottom-rated Sanchez, with a hurting O-line? Doesn't really inspire fear.
