I just don't see the MU guys having flaws pointed out the other top guys do. I suppose if we were drafting top 5 again and Gabbert was an option for us you might see more of it.

I've seen nothing but hard ons for guys like Maclin, Spoon, Smith, Gabbert, Alexander, etc...

That's right and I hit on that one, but I'm pretty straight when it comes to OU players. I already stated about this years class I wouldn't take Beal before the 3rd and wouldn't touch Murray with a 10 foot pole with his injury issues and running style. Broyles is the guy on that team that will end up being a pretty good NFL player and probably the best OU NFL WR in recent history, not that that says much.

I noted Smith's injury history. His stat line from last season was also underwhelming (primarily because of injury). This is the biggest flaw in his game.

Gabbert will have a pretty steep learning curve, but his tools are absolutely elite. I would trade a shit ton of picks for the opportunity to draft him.

Wasn't there an article in The Star about Smith and the DE from Iowa...maybe it wasn't Smith with character issues, maybe it was what's his name from Iowa.

The article was about how close that guy was to coming to MU also and how awesome the defense would've been.

Yes, there was such an article. Clayborn, the Iowa DE, assaulted a taxi driver. Aldon Smith has no such character issues.

Sounds like a fair assesment. I just noticed there is none of that spread QB crap knock against Gabbert. I'm not as high on him as you. Right now I'm thinking Newton might be the one out of this class I would want with Gabbert 2nd. You never know though when you might get one of those 83 classes with HOF all through the 1st round so you really don't care as long as you don't pick the Blackledge of the class.
