We didn't have a $60+ million dollar safety coming off a Pro Bowl season who was hand-picked by Pioli to be the face of the franchise.

Pfft. Everyone knows how that contract is structured. If there is a qb like Gabbert there i wouldnt be suprised if Pioli took him. Im no Pioli fan either...

Also dont you think that signing a local Mizzou player to be his heir apparent. At the most important postion on the field wouldnt be not only a coup for the team, but for fan support and marketing purposes too?

It has a lot to do with peoples perception of Pioli. Iv been as hard on him as anyone but to assume that he wont pick a certain player is silly. Most of Chiefsplanet thought the same last year and were pleasantly suprised..

With no cap and Cassels contract being front loaded its stupid to assume that he wouldnt risk picking another qb up.
