man-made earthquakes do exist. They typically occur when people are mining or injecting without considering the possibility that they may screw up the surface. Thankfully, those quakes tend to be fairly minor, though still damaging.

A 9.1 in Japan due to some ultra-secret never-before-leaked technology operated remotely is stupid sci-fi whackjob bullcrap.
