Blue jean baby?

Tiny dancer in my hand?

But oh how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near
only you and you can't hear me
I think you get the picture.

That's the magic of music. We get to experience worlds that we otherwise cannot imagine.

So, who all didn't vote for Tiny Dancer? Hmmmm?

I think you answered your own question. Elton John is still rock.

I'd just say pop. I like a lot of his stuff, but it isn't rock.

It's sort of like Johnny Cash being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Nothing wrong with Johnny Cash, but seriously, that's just reeruned. It would be like putting Favre in our Ring of Fame.

Yea, id have to say that too....Im a little too young, but im thinking that music categories were alot more broad back in the 60's and 70's....everything today is so specialized and segmented. If Stevie Wonder and Elton John came out with the same music today, in no way would they be considered Rock and Roll.

This is crazy how I was always able to pick the top 3 in the first round but now my own choices suck.

What's your record in Round 2? I'm 12 of 27 through the first nine rounds, which is not a happy place to be.

Do not know. I'm probably less than that. I think I ended up around 90% for the first round but now I'm closer to 40%. Don't think any of my choices will make it out of this poll.

To be fair though, I changed my voting for this round. I was voting more classics last round. Now that I've analyzed your instructions I'm voting strictly for the songs I'd rather listen to on my iPod.

I'm right there with you.

However, it's not our choices that suck.....

And I think your criterion is the way to go. It's easy to pick a song because "common knowledge" says it's a classic. But I think here we want to pick out the best song based on our own collective tastes. Otherwise, I'd just put up a Stairway to Heaven vs. Freebird poll and call it good.

I assume Stairway to Heaven will win. Not my first choice by any means, but I really don't see anything else topping it.

i think a lot of people are voting, "What song are you most likely to hear during the drive at 5 on your favorite classic rock station?"

I would agree that it's a strong contender, but any given Sunday. This is why they play the games. Probably some other saying, too.

Well, that's just wrong.

We're trying to find the best song, not the most famous one. I bet that's why Cadillac Ranch lost.
