The hated Donks' first pick.

It looks like it's gonna be between Vonn Miller, Marcel Dareus, or possibly Patrick Peterson. I absolutely hate that they are in this position. Two years ago we were picking third and had to take Tyson Jackson. Can you imagine if the three names above were available to us then?

Here's my curiousity:

As Chiefs fans and Donk haters (you cannot be just one), what is the order of your preference for them to pick from those three names? And why?

Peterson #1 because corners in the league have less of an impact than a dominate D-tackle or pass rusher.

That's exactly my order. Vonn Miller looks like the next Derrick Thomas.

DT's bust at the highest rate. Miller is a better fit in a 3-4 than a 4-3, and would get dominated at the POA as a RDE, IMO. Ask the Jets how much shut down corners are worth.

The worst scenario is none of the above, it's if the Broncos take Gabbert.

You shit your mouth. If that happens I will blame you and eat my cereal out of the bottom of your skull.

Seriously though, there is no way they go QB. They think they have something in Timmy.

I don't think Elway is sold on him. I think it's a very low chance, but it does exist within the realm of possibility.

Worst case for the Broncos, best case for the Chiefs. Please take Gabbert Donks.

I don't want to see Peterson or Miller in this division. Miller would slaughter our tackles, especially working in tandem with Dumervil, and Peterson on Bowe just means Cassel has no one else to throw to. Dareus was a bit of a one year wonder, but if he puts it all together, he could be an absolute terror at almost any position in any front. He's not Suh, but he's got a lot of the same traits.

Dareus
Peterson
Miller

But they are going to have their choice of a really freaking good player with their pick.

Again, please take Gabbert. I'd much rather have a dysfunctional QB controversy than face a complete stud on the defense.

Sadly that's true. It bugs me real bad that we didn't have such choices 2 years ago at 3.

I would jump with joy and dance the Middle Eastern reptile dance until the Chiefs pick, if they did that.

That'd be the best case if they took Blaine Grbac.

Good point. I had forgotten that the Donks are switching to 43.

Von Miller would not play DE for the Broncos. John Fox said he would be our SAM. I wouldn't be surprised if he was on the line on 3rd downs though with Ayers playing DT.

I actually typed this point by point yesterday but never submitted it because I wanted to expend my views on Peterson a bit before doing so and didnt have the time to do so last night.

I think that if they draft him (or Prince) they will have a scenario similar to the one Washington had awhile ago when they initially took Champ Bailey and had Deion mentor him and bring him along.

Champ is at that point in his career where he is still pretty good, but time is very limited and he seemingly wants to help develop his successor.

The key (to me at least) to drafting well starts with hitting on your first rounders (even if they arent homeruns) year in and year out and I dont think you can get much more of a sure thing than Peterson as a future shut down guy if he is able to play and learn from one of the better corners of the last few years.

If they took Miller, you could run right at them all game and it would be very hard for them to win in this league with two ends that are liabilities in the run game. Dareus seems to me to be fairly air tight, but as Hamas suggested (and I typed last night) DL bust out at a high rate and the chances he traslates into the difference maker he was in college as a pro is pretty slim.

LOL @ sacoshit calling Dareus a one year wonder and then comparing him to Suh.

Dude surely is a fools fool.

Proof that no matter how many big words you know how to use, it doesnt make you smart.

a) I hate to be the grammarian here, but IT'S ****ING "DOMINANT". WHY THE **** DO PEOPLE SAY DOMINATE? Dominate is a verb, "to dominate"; dominant is an adjective: "a dominant team".

b) I hope they take Cam Newton. Play him out to be whatever you will, but if Carolina passes on him, I hope they jump on him. Dude will not be shit. Dude won't be a maggot on the shit on Roger Goodell's shoe.

Casserly says Newton has one thing in common with Ryan Leaf and Pamela Anderson.
