Any decent free agents left?

So we lost a few guys even just today that I think quite a few people were hoping we'd sign - Ryan Harris, Franklin, Warren, etc.. I scrounged to come up with a few names that are left at positions of need for us but there doesn't seem to be much left over that would help us out -

NT - Pat Williams? He's 38 but could at least be depth since all we have is Gregg and Powe

OT - Gaither, Max Starks, Flozell Adams, Bryant McKinnie? Most of these guys are either hurt or showed up to camp out of shape and were cut

ILB - Channing Crowder, Lofa Tatupu, Kirk Morrison. Crowder and Morrision would be quality signs...Tatupu was hurt and supposedly has lost a step.

OLB - Matt Roth. Close to signing with the Bears though....

DE - Drawing a blank here....Warren was the last guy I thought would make an impact

WR - Still some quality with Malcolm Floyd, Mike Williams and Braylon Edwards. Not sure WR is a large priority for us anymore

RB - Michael Bush and McClain are still out there I think. I'd take either to replace Thomas Jones.

That's it unless there's someone I'm overlooking? I think we're out of luck on any further Oline or Dline help. Still possible to get a decent middle linebacker unless we're standing pat after the Siler signing. Wouldn't mind picking up one of those two RBs either....

Battle isn't useless, if he was he wouldn't have made it throught two regimes. We don't even really need a FB with the offense that we have. Go out and fill the major needs then if Die Hard is still there snatch em up.

What other RB's do we have on the team right now behind Battle? Any chance they can beat him out?

The reason he's survived two regimes is that he's less smelly shit than the shit he's beaten to keep a roster spot.

But shit is shit, no matter the degree of stink.

You can embrace the shit.

Me, I'm looking to flush at the earliest opportunity.

Then why did we keep 2 fullbacks on the roster last year?

Not really sure about that but they weren't really used enough to go out and spend alot on that position. I'm not sure what he cost I haven't looked but like I said, our offense is set maybe with another Olineman or two. Let's build up the defense, and take care of the people in house.

I would absolutely want to sign Pat Williams AND commit to carrying 3 nose tackles this year so that we keep Powe as well. The old guys will need to rotate and Powe can come along as quickly/slowly as he needs.

i really want OT help ... Gaither scared me. I just don't know that he gives a shit about anything but the money.

Tatupu would be interesting

is Bush restricted ... would be nice to have a bruiser

I liked Thomas Jones the first half of last year but if you recall, his play really slipped the 2nd half. By the end of the season he was getting under 2 ypc.

I'm definitely in the camp that we can't simply go into the season relying on Jones/Charles to carry us for a full season. Plus, if either get hurt then we're really going to be stuck as neither of these guys can handle a full workload.

I think I read somewhere that Thomas Jones ate some mass-produced packaged foods and got cellulose poisoning
