Off Season Lets Talk Guns
Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon? Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? Part 2: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=293623 Last edited by Bearcat; 07-28-2015 at 06:06 PM.. |

Yup been watching for a while...but will probably wait until they come out with the semi version. Looks interesting though and a bit crazy that they adapted it recently to first not just the 2.75 but the 3" magnum shells too!

One thing about Kel Tec - after watching a bunch of my online gun-pals get cranky about delays on their .22 mag pistols - just be prepared to wait awhile on their latest and greatest release stuff. They take a while to get their pipeline full and delivering. But credit where it's due, they're coming up with some good ideas.

Meanwhile, Bambi gets shot dead at "The Bullet Hole".....
Woman, man found dead at shooting range met on the Net A police car sat outside The Bullet Hole Shooting Range Tuesday at 6201 Robinson Road in Overland Park. Police say two people were shot to death there. ALLISON LONG | Kansas City Star Bambi Hilburn, 38, of North Kansas City, and the boyfriend she’d met on the Internet just a few months back had never been to a shooting range. On Tuesday, they went to the Bullet Hole in Overland Park and now both are dead. Police were called to the shooting range at 6201 Robinson Road about 11:20 a.m. and found a man and a woman shot. Police do not think anyone else was involved in the deaths. “It was just a spur of the moment thing, them going,” Christy Gregor, Hilburn’s sister, said late Tuesday. “A detective came out and told us she was dead. We don’t know what happened.” She said she had met the boyfriend, but did not know much about him. “He seemed normal,” Gregor said. Matthew Bregel of the Overland Park Police Department said gunfire in the building was obviously common so the shooting did not draw attention. The layout is such that Hilburn and the man could have been the only two in a section, he added. The man had not been identified Tuesday. Gregor said her sister worked at a grocery store in the Northland. “The detective told us he would know something else” today, Gregor said. The popular shooting range has seen other killings, the most recent being in March 2010 when a man committed suicide there. In 1997, three people killed themselves at the Bullet Hole with guns they rented there. In response, the business instituted a 24-hour waiting period for new members. gblowfish We have a Bullet Hole, couple blocks out side of Omaha. Been several suicides in that place. On any given day a freak could kill 5 to 10 peeps easy. They rent hands guns to stupid people. Biggest reason I dont go into that place very often.

Yeah, good luck to the folks at the Bullet Hole, who have the worst mind-reading abilities of anyone since...well, since me.
Douchebags, just a note. If you feel like you have to blow your brains out - step outside and git 'er done. See ya, wouldn't want to be ya. Don't worry about the mess in the yard, we have people for that. But don't feel like you have to take anyone along for company.

I saw some shotgun talk above - this is a link to one of my favorite common-sense gun bloggers website, filtering on 'shotguns'. There's a lot of useful data in one place, so it might be worthwhile for most folks to give this a looksee.
http://xavierthoughts.blogspot.com/s...label/Shotguns He's a nurse and seems to have burned out on updating, but if you have time to poke around that site, he knows his stuff on a few things. Nice fella, doesn't suffer fools gladly or otherwise.

My wifes grandpa said back in the 60's they couldn't give those away for $20. Funny, they are worth $6-900 now.

And now for my next potential upgrade....
I'm wanting to switch out my existing quad handguard with a rifle length free float handguard. I'll need to get a new low profile gas block and a couple of tools for the installation, but it doesn't look like it'll be too difficult to do. I've got my eye on this handguard: http://www.samson-mfg.com/mm5/mercha...e_Length_Rails I like the look of a rifle length handguard on a 16" barrel, leaving only a few inches of the barrel exposed. Now I'm upgrading the ****ing upgrades. |
