It would have to create another universe. Every action would, its one of the 12 dimensions of time I believe. If time is the 4th dimension and exists in picture frames and not in a linear order, thats how it would have to work. Changing a past frame wouldn't affect the current one. Although this can't be true because Back to the Future holds all truths of life.
