Rumors on Cassel and Haley

http://kan.scout.com/2/1108098.html

Quote:
There were rumblings a few months ago that the organization had soured on Cassel. This week, we heard that Cassel, like his head coach Todd Haley, wasn’t getting the warm and fuzzy feeling from management AKA Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli.

Based on that, the Chiefs may already be on the Andrew Luck watch
Quote:
More losses are coming. The Chiefs and their head coach, the embattled Todd Haley, are about to find out just how tight the noose gets. We’ve already heard names such as Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden and Kirk Ferentz linked to the Chiefs.

I can’t see Pioli firing Haley until he has a firm commitment that a big name coaching talent has agreed in principle to join the team in January. In the event Haley is fired midseason, we’ve been told defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel will accept a temporary coaching position for the remainder of the season .

Rumors

Pretty sad that the season has come to this. I thought that an 8-8 finish would have been a disappointment but understandable...considering the increased difficulty of the schedule.

0-16 could actually happen. I don't blame the problem on injuries. McGraw did fairly well considering the shoes he tried to fill. It comes down to coaching and preparation. I don't know what is going on. This is awful.

Green Bay is a small market that constantly wins. We should look at their example and model. We don't have to suck.

That.

Clay likes to burn both ends of the match.

Luckily, no one here is dumb enough to pay for that kind of 'premium content."

Without reading the entire thread, I would like to give a great big shout out to Aunt Wilma who predicted that Matt Cassel would become the most hated man in the entire Midwest before striking Uncle Merris betwixt the eyebrows with a wooden soup spoon.

I don't see how anybody could be pissed off at Haley. Sure, his approach to the game is ... different. Sure, he takes calculated risks. Sure, he has no clear idea how to shave or comb his hair, but he took over a giant pile of crap and turned it into something better.

He can't win with Cassel. We know it and he knows it. The fact is that nobody can or could (except for the Pats who had an entire system and team established before they called his number). I have no doubt in my mind that he despises Cassel and would rather drink opossum urine than suit him up. Cassel is Pioli's problem ... not Haley's.

This is why you are one of my Planet mentors Mr. FAX!!! I really would like to see Haley's downfield attacking scheme with a QB who can actually throw the ball downfield.

Hopefully you are wrong. If the Chiefs keep losing like they have, Haley won't be here after the bye week. You'd think desperation would set in before that.

Both Harbaughs lost yesterday, the Ravens getting blown out and 49ers losing a lead.

Wrong. Pioli's job isn't on the line because of Cassel. Haley's very likely is.
