Flow Master mufflers are notorious for droning right at 2K. Mine are no exception, they'll drone loud enough to vibrate the tub on my Jeep. Once warm they're not nearly as bad though, not sure why.

Harleys sound like one long, continuous wet fart. Always cracked me up that Harley tried to patent the sound a v-twin makes, even if flatulent cattle made the noise first.

One thing about friends with louder cars, they don't have to honk or call when they pull up in the driveway.

I really, really like the sound of my car. Now that I have a DVD recorder the car's been buried in the garage for 5 years. It's coming out again this summer since I'm selling my 2nd car it'll be my only hot rod. Easier to sell the 'cuda now that I have the wife in an SRT 10. Now talk about screwed up sounding motors, I'm still not use to the sound of it but know it flat gets with the program when that little pedal on the right is depressed. Here's my car from several years back. 3" tti all the way back with tti 2" headers. Dynomax mufflers. About :17 you can hear it when I'm pulling away.

I have a 4 cylinder that sounds like an 8, and when my wastegate opens up it sounds like a freight train.
In my case, the noise is the product of making power, not just becuase I want the noise, but I cant say I dont enjoy it. My car on the dyno - My car on the street - sounds a bit different, if you can hear the KAKAKAKAKA thats the open wastegate for info - my car is a 2.0 4 cylinder turbo, full 3 inch all the way back, no cats, and it sounds far different than most 4 cylinder becuase of both the boxer motor configuration, and the fact that it has unequal length headers. Subie rumble ftw. |
