You are 4-5 and one game out of first.... if you were 1-8 then what the hell do you have to lose but until you are officially out of it I don't think it's a good move.. I seriously doubt Cassel is done, The Chiefs have alot of money invested in him and will not pull him barring an injury unless he really stinks the place up and I don't think he is a great QB but he can manage a game and do just enough to keep his job.

I don't give a damn who you start as a fan, I want to see you lose every week but after the qb carousel in Oakland since 2002 I can tell you a new guy is not always the answer... Most of the time it's the coaches trying to create a gameplan to their liking more than one that suits the strengths of their QB.

-This is a mirage 4-5. In a month it will most likely be 4-9.

- Isn't Cassel's contract structured that by now his release, etc., won't be too costly?

- Your estimation of Cassel as a game manager is not incorrect. But a game manager, IMO, should be the characteristic of the 2nd QB on a team. The starting QB should be a "Game CHANGER." In today's NFL you won't do much without one.
